My Best Performers

Posted by abie on 7:34 AM in
My daughter Bela will be participating in their school’s year-end program. They are also encouraging parents to join the performance of their kids as well and as expected, I will say no for this, but not for hubby.

As I’ve told you before, hubby can showcase his talents when it comes to singing and playing instruments. I think he is the one that my kids look up to that’s why they are very eager to learn how to play musical instruments.

Since Bela is attending drums lessons, hubby came up with the idea about their performance. Bela’s coach said that she can already read notes and she can even play Roar which is one of Katy Perry’s songs. So hubby said that both of them can jam to the tune of Roar with Bela being the drummer and him being the guitarist. Bela loves the idea that’s why she’s been practicing at home with her new drum set. As per hubby, he’s quite nervous but he said that he’s confident enough that they can nail it. He is even looking for a guitar store where he can order one of the newest models of guitar so they can have the best quality of sounds.

I just can’t wait to see both of them on the stage. For sure, I’ll be the first one to give them the standing ovation and applause.

10 Years and Still in Love

Posted by abie on 9:34 AM in
Yikes, I can't believe that in just 3 months, my husband and I will be celebrating our 10th year anniversary. We actually have no plans yet on how we will celebrate it. My husband initially wanted to have a renewal of vows since our kids can now play a big part in the ceremony but I don't think it will be possible due to budget constraints. So maybe, we can just have a short getaway, so we can just relax and enjoy each others company.

I am also checking for gold wedding rings as hubby lost his already and mine doesn't fit me anymore so maybe this will be the perfect time to replace it.

So we will see. We have 3 months left before our big day. But I am sure no matter how we will celebrate it, it will still be the best day of our lives because we are still together, still in love after 10 years.

Hello September

Posted by abie on 7:51 AM in ,
In the Philippines, we celebrate Christmas early and it begins as soon as we enter the “BER” months. That is why on September 1, you shouldn’t be surprised if you will already hear Christmas songs playing on the radio or if you can see Christmas decors being sold in stores.

And as per our family, hubby and the kids are so excited that hubby already put out our Christmas tree from storage. They are planning to start decorating this weekend so I am also looking at the site of patience brewster as I heard that they have lots of nice Christmas decorations.

So to all our friends and family, Advance Merry Christmas.

Proud of Team Gilas Pilipinas

Posted by abie on 7:42 AM in ,
It was a very memorable week for the Filipinos last week as we watch game per game of our team Gilas Pilipinas. We lost the first four games but in spite of that, the Filipinos are still very proud of what our team have accomplished.

The Philippines was able to come back to FIBA after 36 years and when they did came back, our players showed the world what Philippine basketball is and gained the world’s respect in the process.

The win against Senegal for Game 5 is just an icing on the cake as Gilas Pilipinas had already accomplished their goal.

And behind this great team is the team captain, Jimmy Alapag. And my husband dig our picture chest just to find this picture.

The Beauty of Music

Posted by abie on 9:56 AM in
Since there was no electricity and we don’t want to stress ourselves too much from worrying because of the flood, we just put out our musical instruments and we drown our fears in a song while we are all stranded in our house.

My cousin started playing the guitar and we all sing along with him. We even played the name that tune song and even the kids participated and had fun.Even my daughter joined and she started playing drums too.

Our family is really music lovers and music always plays an important role in our lives that is why we love the site of musician friend. The flooding that we experienced a few days ago was something new to us and we are glad that we were able to surpass that ordeal with the company of each other accompanied by good music.

For Bela's Room

Posted by abie on 2:53 AM in
Bela has been attending drum lessons at Academy of Rock for more than a year now. Her drum set is placed in her room which is just across our room. Now that Zaak has arrived, we know that we have to do something so Zaak will not be bothered if Bela would want to play with her drums.

We are working on a limited budget but thankfully we discovered a cheaper way to sound proof Bela’s room and that is with the use of egg crate foam. That is why hubby plans to buy egg crate foam this coming weekend so he can start to sound proof Bela’s room.

Bela and hubby is really excited with this project because finally they can continue their jamming sessions without disturbing our precious little one.

Tagaytay again

Posted by abie on 2:47 AM in ,
For the nth time, we went to Tagaytay again last weekend as hubby wanted to unwind and I was making the most of my last two weekends before I go back to work. But to change things a little, we decided to visit Paradizoo this time. Paradizoo is a mini zoo and themed farm located in Cavite. We left Manila around 11 AM already so we just grabbed food for takeout along SLEX and we head straight to Paradizoo. I haven’t uploaded the pictures yet but this is one of the family pictures that we took inside Paradizoo:
Bela and Cobi really had a blast even though there are just a few animals in the zoo. But they enjoyed it because some of the animals are just freely roaming around the farm so the kids had a chance to play and pet the animals. After our visit to Paradizoo, we went to Carlo’s Pizza for merienda before heading back home to Manila.

Celebrating our 9th

Posted by abie on 9:28 PM in , ,
Last January 29, we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. I can’t believe time flies that fast. I can still remember when hubby and I were still preparing for our wedding and now here we are. We were able to stick with each other for 9 years. LOL.

We did not have any big celebration. What is important for us is that we are together on that day and we have spent some quality time together even if it is just for a couple of hours. We left home early and we went to our favorite out of town getaway, Tagaytay. It was an impromptu decision. We actually had reservations at Vikings but hubby decided to take a long drive. I did not even know where to eat as hubby like to try a new restaurant.

Thanks to my viber friends as they were able to give me suggestions in an instant and so we ended up eating at Steaktown at Lake House Hotel and we just enjoyed our sumptuous steak:

I am really thankful to God for giving me hubby and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but with him.

Celebrating my 36th

Posted by abie on 11:07 PM in
Last January 19 was my birthday and since it falls on a weekend, hubby convinced me that we celebrate it in Tagaytay.

We left the house around 5:30 as we wanted to catch the first mass at Pink Sisters Church:

After mass, we also dropped by Little Souls Church:

Then we went straight to Sky Ranch and we are just in time for its opening at 10 AM. But we were surprised as the parking was already full even though they just opened. The kids really had fun at Sky Ranch as they were able to try almost all the rides.

By 1 PM we are all hungry already and so we went to Breakfast at Antonio’s for lunch. It was our first time there and even if it is late already for lunch, we still waited for at least 30 minutes to be seated. But the wait was worth it as we love their food and we are definitely going back:

After our late lunch, the kids played for a bit in the garden at the back of the restaurant and we had our pictorial for my Photo Projects and then we head back home.

It was really a perfect birthday…almost, if not for the last text message that I received that day (but I don’t think it deserves a blog post). But I am really thankful because I spent my special day with hubby and the kids and I wouldn’t spend it any other way.
