August is the month for the celebration of "Filipino Week" in my daughter's school and they have a lot of activities lined up for this month to celebrate it.

They started with a parade where each Grade Level was asked to come in the costume for the region assigned to them. Mindanao was the region assigned to the Prep class and this is what Bela wore:

Since there was no classes for a couple of days before the Filipino Week celebration, we were only given a few days to prepare for the costume that our kids will wear for the event. June 15 will be Bela’s first day at St. Scholastica. I am excited because this will be another adventure for Bela as she enters big school but scared in a way because I know that it will be a big adjustment for her. That is why I already filed a leave from June 15 – 16 so at least I will be with her during her first two days at big school. I wanted to take a leave for a week but since I will be going on maternity leave soon, I have a lot of things to finish at work before I go on maternity leave so I can’t afford to be away from the office that long.

Her things for school are all complete. Thank you to my sister since she was the one who shop for the remaining things that Bela needs for school like the plain white rubber shoes for her P.E, the bag tags, the wrapper and the plastic cover and she was even the one who covered the books of Bela.

My little girl is already ready for big school. I really hope that she will have lots of fun and lots of learning on her new school. I can’t wait to see what will happen next week.

Last night, my sister together with her group mates slept at our house so they can work on their thesis overnight. I can see myself a few years back looking at my sister and her classmate. My thesis group mates are also like them who work double time and would be lucky enough to get 4 hours max of sleep just so we can finish our thesis.

I think their thesis is the only requirement that they have to comply before they can qualify for graduation. Soon, my sister will be out looking for jobs and I am sure she will not have a hard time finding one as Computer Science graduates are really in demand. Thanks also to job hunting sites like beyond.com where my sister can post her resume, find a job and get contacted my employers who wants to fill a job opening in their company.

I am sure my sister can’t wait to get out of school and be part of the professional world. At least that is how I felt when I was already on my 5th year in college as a Computer Engineering student. It would really be nice to earn my own money and not depend on my parents and I get to practice the skills that I learn from school.

Who would have thought that despite our very busy schedule (both Howell and I have our own sideline aside from our day job) that we would still be able to go back to school and hopefully be able to finish our masters.

Thanks to the online university degree program, we have a chance again to finally finish our masters degree. Just like what the speaker during the student’s orientation had mentioned, with online degree, we will be able to spend less time traveling to go to the campus and so we will be able to spend more time studying. This is the perfect choice for those who live a very busy lifestyle (like us) since we can study at our own pace at the comforts of our own home.

We are now on our first semester (still surviving), but hope this time we will be able to finally obtain our masters degree.

To say that Howell and I are very busy is an understatement. I still manage to keep up with all the paper works that I need to finish for all my three subjects for my masters plus I have to finish my pending tasks for my sideline too and we are still quite busy at work. So almost everyday, Howell and I will be up until 3 – 4 AM just to finish all of this. Sometimes I have to start late since I have to wait before Bela goes to bed first (since I can’t work anyways because she always want either me or Howell to play with her, or watch movies with her or just chat with her). Sometimes she goes to bed at 11 PM so that is the only time that I can start with my work.

Just like last night, I stayed up until 3 AM. I am quite happy though because I was able to finish my to-do list but that is just the first part of my list as I still have a lot of things to do. That is why Howell suggested that we should get vitamins and supplements because otherwise, we both might get sick. So I learned about Allegro Medical System. It is an online site where I can buy almost all my health care needs from medical supplies, to baby products, and even Urological supplies like foley catheter. What I like about their site is that they have an auto re-order system which is what I need so that is one less thing for me to worry about.

So I will log off now and hopefully I will be able to finish my to-do list again tonight so I can at least go to be before midnight.

For years now, hubby and I have been planning to finish our degree program. You see, we both are just one step away from acquiring our Graduate School Degree. Hubby just needs to finish his thesis to graduate from his Master of Science in Information Technology course at De La Salle University and I just need to finish my thesis too to finish my Master of Science in Engineering Management course at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

But we both are now over our residency period and so we have to take refresher subjects before we can enroll in the thesis program. The bad news is, we are both very busy that is why it has been years already and we kept on postponing our plans to pursue our masteral degree.

So I was really glad when I learned of the online courses that is being offered by Capella University. They are the leading online school for graduate programs and their targets are the working professionals who don’t have the time in their hands to attend on site classes to finish their masteral degree. This is the best option for us so we can both finish our graduate program so we will definitely consider enrolling at Capella University since we really need to finish our Masteral Degree once and for all.

Bela almost didn’t make it to class today according to my mom. They left late for school as the technician for my brother’s car called my dad to inform him that the steering rack that he ordered has arrived. This means that my dad has to bring the car to the work shop for repair and my dad has to wait until it is finish.

My brother needs his car tomorrow so it really has to be sent for repair today. Good thing, the repair was done just before lunch time so they were able to leave the house around 12:45. And it is good also that my dad is a good driver and he knows a lot of shortcuts so they were able to arrive at Toddlers Unlimited just in time for Bela’s 1:30 class. They were even early for class so Bela was able to play at the romp area for a bit before the class started.
