Where to Find Fashionable Nursing Uniforms

Posted by abie on 12:16 PM in
The health industry is one of the growing industries nowadays. That is why a lot of my friends are working now as nurses or physical therapist in different hospitals across different states. Before, uniforms of nurses are just plain white scrub suit. But don’t you just love it if you are working as a nurse and you can wear colorful or fashionable medical scrubs and uniforms at work?

That is why my friends are really happy because the hospital where they are working now order their nursing uniforms from Scrubs and Beyond. They have scrub suits of different styles, prints, and colors for men, women, and even pregnant nurses. They even have seasonal medical scrubs just like their summer collection in bright colors or down to earth tones. Scrubs and Beyond not only sells nursing uniforms but nurses shoes and even accessories like Stethoscopes, medical kits and tools and even medical reference books to complete all the needed tools and uniforms of medical staff in a hospital. Their prices are so affordable and they sometimes offer free ground shipping and other promos and discount. I am sure I will love to wear these uniforms from Scrubs and Beyond if I am working as a nurse too.

Plant Relocation

Posted by abie on 1:16 PM in
I heard from the news that one of the biggest semiconductor industries here will be closing and they will be moving their production site to other Asian countries where labor is cheap. I guess this is an effect again of the global recession.

But since these companies need to save money, they need to be moving their machines and equipments to their new production site and that’s when the service of portland crating services comes into picture.

With their plant relocation portland service, moving an entire plant to a new location will never be a problem. Their trained staff will help the company pack their equipments and ship them to the new plant location. What is best with this company is they offer crating portland services where they can even make custom made crates to fit in all equipments so all the machines and equipment will be safely packed in crates to avoid any damages during the shipment.

I am sure this semiconductor company will never be sorry for getting shipping crates portland services for their plant move. And although it will be a great lost since a number of employees will loose their job, I guess we can’t do anything about it as a lot of companies are really closing due to the effect of the global recession. We just have to hope and pray that our economy will be able to bounce back soon…

DUI/OUI

Posted by abie on 9:49 PM in
Paris Hilton
Lindsay Lohan
Gary Dourdan
Nicole Richie

They are just a few of the Hollywood stars who have been charged with DUI (Driving under the Influence of alcohol or OUI (Operating under the Influence of alcohol). DUI or OUI is a serious offense. If you have been charged with DUI / OUI, you will be asked to pay a fine, or you can loose your license or worse you will be put to jail.

A classic example is Paris Hilton. She is a well known personality in the Hollywood industry plus their family is a prominent figure in the hotel industry. But even though she has the money, she was sentenced for 3 years probation, a mandatory attendance at an alcohol education program and she was even asked to pay a $1500 fine. And then when she was charged with DUI again, she was sentenced for a 45 days in jail because she violated her probation.

This only shows that DUI is really a serious charge and if you loose your case, you will have a permanent criminal record. That is why it is important to get a good Massachusetts OUI Lawyer if you are charge with one. The counsel Ed Sharkansky, is a former prosecutor so he knows how to fight against DIU charges. They will really help those people charged with DIU to clean their name and prevent having a criminal record.

500 words

Posted by abie on 12:37 AM in
Yup, 500 words. That is the requirement for the essay that I have to compose as part of the requirement for the new adventure that hubby and I is cooking. I was so lazy to do it at first (imagine 500 words and I am not even getting a single centavo for it). But then when I started typing, in just no time I am finish with my 500-words essay.

Even hubby got surprised as he needs to do one too and he is surprised at how fast I was able to finish it. Well, thanks to my blogging hobby, I got used to constructing essays no matter how many words are required. So blogging is really a good training. If you want to pursue a career in writing, better start your own blog. It will be a good practice for you to keep your creative juices moving. Although my vocabulary still needs a lot of improvement. But I am happy as I was able to meet the deadline and finish my 500 words essay in time.

Death of John Ong’s Father

Posted by abie on 8:08 AM in
I was doing my usual rounds on my inbox and was checking the emails from my yahoo groups and one email caught my attention. It was an email from the moderator of our yahoo groups and she sadly announced that the father of one of the famous photographer in the wedding industry, Jong Mateos Ong, passed away last November 13 because of cancer.

Cancer is a very sensitive issue to me as I have an aunt who also passed away because of cancer several years back. It was a very traumatic and emotional experience for us as a family as we are really very close. I remember my aunt has to take different medicines and she has to undergo chemo therapy sessions every month to ease the pain that she is experiencing. Good thing we have discovered a very reliable online site where we purchase all my aunt needs. It is a god online store for medical products and they carry almost everything from cervical collars to maternity needs and all other kinds of medical supplies. We have set an auto re-ordering system for all the supplies that my aunt needs so at least we have one less thing to think about.

I was reading the blog of John Ong last night and I was truly awed and touched by his words and how brave he is handling his father’s death. He is happy that his father decided to join our heavenly Father in heaven when he is already ready and when he decided to accept God in his life again and that is really something that John is really very thankful for.

Posted by abie on 10:11 AM in
My colleague just got back from her training in Ottawa. She stayed there for two weeks and she was able to visit other cities in Canada like Vancouver. She met wit her friend in Vancouver who works as a flight attendant.

My colleague was surprised that with the current economic recession, a lot are having problems looking for a job but she found out from her friend that airline industry need a lot of qualified flight attendant that is why she decided to have a Flight Attendant Career.

Her friend used to work as a nurse but then she decided to switch careers and she decided to attend a Flight Attendant School and her friend is really happy with her decision. Being a flight attendant opened a lot of new doors for her and it gave her the opportunity to travel also. She also gets to mingle with people of different culture which she really finds interesting since she really get to learn a lot. She is really happy with the career switch that she did and she feels that this will be her last career.

Nursing course is in demand again

Posted by abie on 7:58 AM in
Nursing has been one of the in demand courses nowadays. Why? It’s because nursing graduates can get to work abroad and earn big bucks. I have a lot of friends who are now working abroad as a nurse and I can’t blame them for moving to a foreign country since what they are getting is really ten times (or even more) than what they will be getting if they just work here.

I even know some friends who are already a graduate of other courses but still they decided to take nursing. I really admire them as they still find the energy and the time to study a new course which will take them maybe around three to four years to finish.

I can’t imagine myself studying again and a medical course at that. I can’t imagine myself memorizing names of different medicines or studying the different systems in our body or analyzing cases like Deep Vein Thrombosis. I feel my brain has been stagnant for years now that even if I wanted to take up nursing too, I think my brain will no longer work.
This announcement was paid for by Epocrates.

Fine art master

Posted by abie on 12:36 AM in
Some months ago when I accompanied my daughter in her school field trip at children’s art museum, I was completely surprised and overwhelmingly amused by the ravishing changes that took place in it. Although most of the old exhibits were still among the display, I noticed the presence of some new portraits, sculptures and antiques recognized in world history with depicting mementoes which accordingly were transported or shipped with utmost care from foreign shores to find their place in this museum.

As I and other parents followed the group of our child on their journey in the museum, everyone particularly I was in complete admiration of the exquisite Fine Art Storage display that were masterfully culled and arranged by the most adroit persons abreast with all the nuances behind any work of art. The fine art collections of pictures and portraits on the walls chronicling the years are real eye catching that evolved so beautifully and aesthetically adorable which produced a delightful and refreshing ambiance close to paradise conveying an aura of happiness in this exuding modern life. I was even more enamored by the excellent choice for the perfect location of sculptures and antiques displays that even some of the nook and cranny were punctuated with art stuffs yet still sets a fantastic dazzling sight for every viewer’s eyes to see and creates a passion to deeply understand that the exciting world of art is filled with beauty that greatly emphasize the elegant splendors of everything that goes around it. It’s a real masterpiece work of the master of the game whose impeccable knowledge in the world of art is a reminiscent herald of a great connoisseurs.

The trip was such a beguiling experienced. On our way home I remembered I asked my daughter how she felt about the museum, but instead of replying she threw her query on me, “mom can you help me be a fine art artist”, sure baby sure I uttered her and we both wore a tingly smile.

Look of the year

Posted by abie on 3:08 PM in

Want to be on top? This is what I always here from Tyra Banks every time I watched her reality TV show which is looking for the next top model. I love watching her show but I realized it is difficult to penetrate the modeling world. You have to go through a lot of trainings, a lot of sacrifice and you should have to be really beautiful and you should have an edge against the other models so the agents can take notice of you.

My sister is a supermodel wannabe. She even tried auditioning and submitting audition pictures to agencies so she can try her luck with modeling. But it seems it is really difficult to become a model.

So when I found out that Look of the year is having an online Beauty contest, I really got interested since this will be a perfect avenue for my sister to make her dream come true. The contest is open to everybody, young and old and to all model aspirants all over the world.

All those who want to join just need to sign up so they can submit their profile to the Look of the year site and then spread the word since they will be judged base on the online votes they will get. And the best part is, even if they don’t win, there is a chance that model agencies would take notice of them since Look of the year will be inviting them to check out the profiles of the contestant.

So if you want to be the next model strutting your stuff in Paris, New York and Milan check out this online beauty contest of Look of the year.

Missing YM

Posted by abie on 11:42 PM in
I don’t know what’s wrong with our laptop. It doesn’t run my yahoo messenger. I tried un-installing Yahoo Messenger then installed it again but it still did not solve the problem. Every time I double click on the YM icon, I will just get the hour glass for a couple of seconds, then nothing will happen.

So the whole afternoon, I have been using the messenger integrated with Yahoo Mail, which I don’t like the interface. For one, it doesn’t show the groupings that I have in the full version of YM. It also doesn’t show the chat box in a separate window but just tabbed versions. So the whole afternoon, I didn’t chat that much with my friends as I really hate the YM version that is available on my laptop.

I’m not sure though how I can fix it. The laptop has been acting up lately and I think a reformat is the only solution to fix all of its problems and I don’t think we will have the time this weekend to do that.

Closing Time

Posted by abie on 11:46 PM in , ,
I left the office at exactly 4:30 PM because I need to go to BPI before it closes at 5:00 PM because I need to pay for my credit card bill which is due today.

BPI recently change their banking hours from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM so I decided to go after office instead of going out during lunch time where it is really hot. Since I left at exactly 4:30, I figured I still have 30 minutes before they closes so I really don’t have to rush since there is a BPI branch just across our building. But lo and behold. I was surprise to find out that they are already close. According to the guard, head office suddenly decided to change their closing time to 4:30 PM. Great customer service.

So tomorrow, I have to go out during lunch time to pay for my bills. Hope I won’t be charge with any penalty as I will really be piss with them.

Big Transport Strike today

Posted by abie on 8:34 AM in ,
There will be a transport strike today. Organizers of the strike said that this will be big since even tricycle drivers will participate so it will really paralyze the transport system today. Hope people won’t have a hard time getting home from work today. I’m lucky since I don’t have to worry about that since I called in sick today. It’s the event tomorrow at the office that I’m more worried about. Wish me luck!

Internet still down

Posted by abie on 10:59 AM in
Destiny Internet sucks. Our cable internet connection (where my stand alone PC is connected) is down since Friday. According to the building administrator, the whole building is down. But I can’t imagine that it’s been 5 days already and they still haven’t resolved the issue. And the worst part is we have been trying to call them since Friday, and we’re always put on hold. So we have to send a driver to their office to hand deliver our complaint letter.

My boss is really pissed already. But what can we do, we are at the mercy of Destiny. We always experience lost of connection every once in a while, but connection will just be gone for 4-8 hrs and will be restored the very next day. Somebody will be coming over this afternoon from Destiny (well it’s about time) and hopefully, everything will be fix within the day.

Wednesday morning traffic

Posted by abie on 12:28 PM in
We left the house a little late this morning, as I have to give some instructions for Howell regarding our online orders. It was raining a little bit and we we’re greeted by a heavy traffic on our way to the terminal where I will take my ride. Good thing I was able to ride an FX with an efficient driver who knows how to get his away around the Manila and Makati traffic. So I arrived at 7:54 AM in the office. I’m targeting for zero tardiness this month. Hope I will be able to achieve it.

Happy

Posted by abie on 1:59 AM in ,
After having no opps this past few days, I’m so happy that I was able to make a rebound today and was able to grab 6 opps from Blogitive. I’m so happy. I only have two weeks left and I hope I can meet my target earning for this month. And no, it is not for shopping (well, we still have to see about that…LOL), but I plan to save my earnings for this month so we can have pocket money for our planned SG trip. (I really have to start saving so this trip will push through).

Hoping for more opps to come in the coming days.

Ash Wednesday

Posted by abie on 10:00 AM in

I didn’t realize it’s Ash Wednesday na pala. I just saw a lady on my way to work with a big cross on her forehead. Then I realize Holy Week is a little early this year. There’s a mass at the chapel here at RCBC at 12:15 but for sure the chapel will be packed by hundreds of employees working here at RCBC. So Howell and I might just hear mass at Ermita church later after I meet him there.

Happy Friday

Posted by abie on 8:19 AM in
I received an email from Raft3r with the subject “Happy Friday.” It is indeed a happy Friday.

Friday is my favorite day of the week. We only work up to 1:30 every Friday so I have the afternoon to do some errands like pay our bills, go to the bank, do some grocery and the like. Plus I have something to look forward to every Friday, which is another 2 whole days to spend with my daughter.

Happy weekend everyone!

And now the bad news..

Posted by abie on 8:35 AM in ,
After the good news from Paypal that I learned yesterday, now comes the bad news. I just read from Jacqui’s post yesterday that Cebu Pacific is no longer part of the North West Sky Team. Read on Jacqui’s post to know more.

Darn! I was already excited in getting two free tickets from them to any Asia destination so we can have another out of the country trip this year. But I don’t think that would be possible because if ever we decided to avail of our free miles, then we have to take a 4 hr plane ride to Japan before proceeding to our Asian destination. I think that would be too long a travel for Bela to handle. Unless, as what Jacqui was thinking, we can just go to Japan instead. Oh well, I hope the ban for Philippines by FAA gets lifted so Cebu Pacific might have a chance to be part of the NW Sky Team again. Otherwise, our miles might just expire and we won’t be able to use it, which is a waste.

On virus, worms, & spy ware

Posted by abie on 12:22 AM in
Looks like our laptop caught a virus yesterday. My sister inserted her USB Thumb Drive and after that, it started posting YM status message in Chinese and then the laptop started to run very, very slow that I almost throw it out of the window. Imagine, it took me 45 minutes to an hour to make a post which I normally can finish in just 10-20 minutes.

We left the Anti Virus and Anti Spyware program running overnight and it caught 64 spy wares. But still after that, it is still very, very slow. Howell copied all the files to our external hard disk (that’s just what he did the whole afternoon as we have tons of files and pictures of Bela on our laptop) and he will reformat it later. So I’ll hit the sign off early tonight as Howell will try to work on our laptop. Hopefully, everything gets fix tomorrow.

A burglar was caught inside my mom’s house.

Posted by abie on 2:32 PM in
When my mom went down around 12:30 PM, she saw a mug that has been used and finds it weird that the thermos was inside the bathroom. She then went up to ask my sister if she went down already to drink a cup of coffee or if she went to the bathroom already. And they we’re really surprised to find out that my sister is still inside her room. Then it really bothered them more since the room of my brother is locked and my brother didn’t went home that night. So they got really suspicious that someone was really inside my brother’s room.

They called the Barangay Tanods and my mom fetched a police from the precinct block near our house. The police that they fetched was of no use since he doesn’t want to go inside our house to check who’s inside my brother’s room. When my mom asked him what they have to do, the police answered “Eh malay ko, ikaw ang chairman dito, ikaw dapat nakaalam kung ano gagawin.” So my mom just asked the policeman to go home since he is really of no use.

Some of our neighbors together with the barangay tanods have to force open the door and they we’re really shocked to discover a girl inside my brother’s room wearing my clothes, my bathing suit, my sister’s bra, my brother’s necklace, and who knows what she has been getting from our stuff. They also found the padlock and the key of our gate in her pocket. But according to them, she really has no intent to steal. She is some crazy girl who just went inside our house maybe because she thought that is where she leaves.

My mom brought her to DSWD for custody since they found out from the medical results that the girl is really crazy.

Oh well, this serves as a lesson to my parents that they should never be complacent and they should never leave their gates always open. This has been their habit since my mom is a barangay chairman and our house is like an open house to our neighbors. This is the first time though that a burglar we’re able to get in their house.
