On TARA again

Posted by abie on 11:32 PM in ,
I can’t believe it. Colin and Adrian finished first again for this leg of the race. But in fairness to Marc and Rovilson, they really did their best to beat Adrian and Collin to the Fast Forward. They even decided to do the Fast Forward even if they knew that Adrian and Collin would be doing it and they would be really at each other’s tails while doing it. They just don’t get lucky.

And what’s with the Malaysian mums? They feel that Marc and Rovilson feared them that’s why Marc and Rovilson yielded them. So pathetic. I’m hoping that they will be the next to be eliminated. If that happens, it would be a great final 3.

Bad News

Posted by abie on 8:21 AM in
I was just talking to my brother last night and he gave me the bad news that business hasn’t been doing well since December and sales even dropped this January. My brother is afraid that sales would continue to drop in the coming months. Our business has been one of my sources for saving up for my daughter’s education and if sales won’t improve, I should start finding another business to put up as our source of extra income. I’m considering getting business loans to get the money that I need to start up a new business. Applying for business loans is easy since it can be done online and I can get the approval in just 24-28 hours. Starting a new business is one of my options now if sales for our existing business won’t improve and I would definitely need to get business loans to get the starting capital that I need for this new business that I’m thinking.

Friendship Meme

Posted by abie on 8:00 AM in
Friendship Day is a special day... It is a special time when you can tell your friends how much you appreciate them and show them how happy and thankful you are to have them... and well, it is the best to let them know how you feel everyday... A Friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway!!!

I got tagged by Chat. Thanks sis! I'm sharing this tag:

1. Rafter – one of my closest guy friends. I know I’m always boring (zzzzzzz) you to death with all my stories about married life, the joys and challenges of being a parent and just about my everyday “kawangbuhan.” LOL. But you’re always there for me, through all the ups and downs of my life and during my “high spirit – low spirit” days. Love you dude.

2. Ems – My former officemate. And I can say that we’re really closer now than when we were officemates. Thanks to YM and our blog. More opss for us sis.

3. Peachy – We started as just sisters from n@w, then my daughter and her son became classmates at LG, and everything follows after that. We share almost everything from shopping, parenting tips, married life and just about anything we can talk about. We can just chat and chat for hours without realizing that it’s already 2 AM. I never really thought that I could find a true friend online. Thanks for being a good friend to me sis. Here’s to more shopping tips to share, more secrets to share, and to more resto adventure.

4. Kitts – my batch mate from w@w. We started exchanging emails back in our w@w days and it never ended after we got married. Thanks for always keeping in touch sis and here’s to more chikas and kwentos.

5. Yvelle – my batch mate from w@w also. I’m glad you’re starting your own blog too. Now I can be updated with what’s going on in your life even though we’re miles apart.

Boston IT Services

Posted by abie on 12:28 AM in
My husband just received a phone call from her former colleague. He is starting to put up his own business and is seeking the help and advice of my husband on how he can establish an Information Technology arm for his company. He knows that Information Technology is vital and is a necessity for his business that’s why he is willing to invest on it. But since they are just a small size company and are just starting up, my husband suggested that they just get the services of an Information Technology consultant, like Boston IT Services, instead of hiring a full time IT staff to get his IT infrastructure going.

What’s best about getting the service of Boston IT Services is that it would just be like you hired a full time IT staff and you have a full time IT department who monitors and administers the company’s network. Boston IT Services can help the company design and implement their network infrastructure, provide IT support, network maintenance, monitoring and optimization and a whole lot of services.

All of this they can get just by getting the service of Boston IT Services. This can save the company big bucks but at the same time be assured that the IT infrastructure of the company is being manned by competent IT Staff and will always be in top condition.

Do You Shop More Than Most Women?

Posted by abie on 11:34 PM in
Snagged this from Peachy. This is true. I’m a window shopper because I have always been shopping for Bela only. The last time I bought something for myself was last Christmas season because I want to have something new to wear for the holidays. But before that, I really can’t remember the last time I shop for myself.

You're a Window Shopper!

You know that shopping's a blast, but you prefer to save your money
You hardly ever give into an impulse buy, unless it's a total steal
You've always got the most money of your friends - and you never have to borrow
And you've got a nice wardrobe too ... of classic pieces that last years!

Marketing your business

Posted by abie on 11:25 PM in
My friend just put up a new Boxing Gym and Spa right at the heart of Libis. It’s very near the offices and condominiums in Libis and so when they put up the business, they thought that they would have a good market since a lot of employees, and condominium residents are near the area. But it’s been several months now and business still hasn’t picked up even after putting up a lot of signs and advertisement in the areas, thinking of good promotions to attract customers and all the other strategy that they can think of to attract potential customers. But still after doing all this, they still we’re not able to attract a lot of customers to try out their boxing gym and avail of their spa services.

They admitted that they really lack the marketing arm to promote their business. They know that they need a marketing company that can help them establish a goal and make a marketing plan to establish these goals. They know that they need a company that can help them create effective advertisements that will catch the interest of the customers. They know they need a marketing arm that can help them create strategies to help them get their message across their potential customers and in the end, will attract customers to their business.

For sure hiring a marketing company that can help them do all of this for their business would be beneficial to the company and would really be a big help in making their company be heard and be known to all their potential clients.

Moving??

Posted by abie on 11:02 PM in
Three years ago, I experience going through the stressful process of moving offices. I’m part of the Information Technology section and we have to oversee that all the computers and specially the servers we’re moved safely and securely from our old office in Makati Avenue to our new office in Buendia. It was really a stressful process from packing all the computers and servers, to moving them and unpacking and setting all of them up to our new office. Aside from overseeing the packing and move of all the IT equipments, I still have to do my own packing of my personal stuffs. And these made me realize that moving is really a big job and can be stressful to the person who is moving. Good thing our company hired a reliable moving company who helped all the employees pack, move and unpack all their stuffs which make it less stressful for all the employees.

So when my friend asked for my help in seeking a reliable moving company that they can hire when they move to their new house, I didn’t think twice and referred them to Boston Moving Company. They’ve been in the business for more than 100 years now and so they have the best reputation that they will really take care of their clients’ belongings. They can help their clients from packing, to storing, to moving and unpacking the clients’ belongings. Boston Moving Company can really help clients in making their move a smooth one.

Preschool Challenges

Posted by abie on 11:03 AM in ,
I am now on the hunt for a good preschool to enroll Bela. I’m planning to enroll her this coming April for the summer classes so I can gauge in advance if she’s ready for the regular class come June before we enroll her full time.

I have made a list of the preschools that I’m considering based on the information that I got from the net and based on the reviews and feedbacks of other mommies. You can review my list on my other blog.

I know that choosing the best school for my daughter is really a challenging task. Just right now, I’m starting to get confuse already as to what should I consider when looking for a school. We plan to make school visits by second week of February and we will let Bela attend the trial class. I’ll take it from her reaction if she likes the school or not and I will use it also as one of my guide in selecting the school.

Another challenge that I’m facing now for this preschool hunt is the reactions and objections I’m getting from Bela’s lolos and lolas. I’m keeping my preschool hunt a little hush-hush from them, as I know I would be getting a lot of objections since they are really not into sending a toddler to school early. But yesterday, one of my aunts overheard me discussing about the schools that I’m considering for Bela with my dad. I decided to seek the suggestion of my dad on the location of the school since he will be the one driving Bela to school. And my aunt overheard our discussion and that’s when they started airing their objections. One of my aunt said that it’s still too early for Bela to attend a preschool. My other aunt said that Bela might get bored right away and may not be interested to attend big schools. I still love hearing all their sides though. It makes me realize the other side of the coin.

Good thing I made my research and I was explaining to them that schools nowadays are not the traditional type where they confine kids to a classroom and bore them to death with all the lectures. And they we’re open for the idea.

I know they are just airing their concerns and they are just too concern for their first apo. But I know them. In the end, they would respect whatever decision we will have for Bela and will support us all the way.

Sunday Lunch

Posted by abie on 1:19 PM in
We were able to attended Bela’s class at Little Gym last Sunday since my mom decided not to go to Bulacan. I posted some pictures and stories here at Bela’s blog.

After Bela’s class at Little Gym, we join Peachy, Gelo, and Joaqui for a lunch at Conti’s in Connecticut. This is our first time to have lunch there and this is our first time to eat at Conti’s. I love Conti’s cakes as we always have it in the office every time there is a special occasion so I’m pretty sure that their meals would be as yummy as their cakes and pastries. And I was not mistaken. Howell had the Chicken ala Kiev, recommended by Peachy and Gelo and I had the Linguine with Pesto Sauce and it was really yummy.

.: Chicken ala Kiev :.

.: Linguine with Pesto Sauce :.

Bela was already sleepy and is starting to be cranky, as she did not have her morning nap. So right after lunch, we parted ways with Peachy, Gelo and Joaqui and head straight home.

Aesthetic Surgeries

Posted by abie on 12:33 PM in
I was watching my DVDs of one of my favorite TV series, Nip Tuck. It really made me curios about the different plastic surgery operations that others are undergoing just to be beautiful or to improve their appearance. All of them have their own reasons for undergoing the surgery. Others say by being and feeling beautiful, it will help them increase their self-confidence. If I am to ask, I don’t think I would ever find the courage to go under the knife. But I have a friend who is really considering undergoing a plastic surgery. She is even saving up for it and nothing will ever convince her to not do it. So I told her that if ever she would undergo an aesthetic surgery, she should be sure that she is in good hands by getting the services of reputable plastic surgeons.

So I did a research about plastic surgery until I stumble upon the site of Beverly Hills plastic surgery. They are the world famous plastic surgery center located in the famous Rode Drive. Their specialization is Beverly Hills liposuction, which is what my friend is planning to have.

What really made them famous is because they put safety and comfort of clients as their number one priority. Their center is equipped with all the high tech equipments to do the surgery. And every time they perform a surgery, they always have a complete team composed of a plastic surgeon, an anesthesiologist and two nurses to make sure that the surgery will be done with utmost care and safety. And since the Federal Government certifies them, clients can really be assured that they are in good hands. Aside from liposuction, they even do breast augmentation Los Angeles.

I know my friend is really determine to undergo an aesthetic surgery and I want to be sure that she will be in good hands. So I will really recommend to her Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery.

And now the bad news..

Posted by abie on 8:35 AM in ,
After the good news from Paypal that I learned yesterday, now comes the bad news. I just read from Jacqui’s post yesterday that Cebu Pacific is no longer part of the North West Sky Team. Read on Jacqui’s post to know more.

Darn! I was already excited in getting two free tickets from them to any Asia destination so we can have another out of the country trip this year. But I don’t think that would be possible because if ever we decided to avail of our free miles, then we have to take a 4 hr plane ride to Japan before proceeding to our Asian destination. I think that would be too long a travel for Bela to handle. Unless, as what Jacqui was thinking, we can just go to Japan instead. Oh well, I hope the ban for Philippines by FAA gets lifted so Cebu Pacific might have a chance to be part of the NW Sky Team again. Otherwise, our miles might just expire and we won’t be able to use it, which is a waste.

Good News from PayPal

Posted by abie on 2:03 PM in
Yahoo!! I just read from the post of Apols at newlyweds@work yahoo group that we can now make a withdrawal from paypal and have it deposited to a Philippine Bank. And what’s good about this is that they don’t charge any fee if the withdrawal is P7, 000 up. Good thing I haven’t picked up my Eon card yet. This just saves me another P350. LOL.

What I plan to do now is withdraw money from paypal and deposit it to my BPI account so I won’t be tempted to use it for online shopping. This way, I will be able to save. (I’m crossing my fingers that I can do this). All I need to do now is find out the bank code of BPI so I can enroll my BPI account in paypal. Paging Apols. According to Peachy you have the 9-digit bank code of BPI.

Hooray to paypal and thumbs up for continually improving your service to Philippine based papal subscribers.

Debix Ongoing Promo

Posted by abie on 1:46 PM in
I was just chatting with my friend last night and I have been raving about the convenience online banking has done to my life. She and her husband have been residing in Los Angeles and ever since, they do all their banking transactions personally. They are really not into online transactions since they are very much aware that identify theft is a serious crime in he US and a lot of people everyday are becoming victims of it. They told me that they would only switch to online banking transactions, if they can find a good tool that will ensure protection of consumers from identity theft.

So I gave them the site of Debix. Debix has a tool that offers consumers protection from identity theft. All consumers has to do is enroll in the Fraud Alert Management system of Debix. Once consumers are enrolled, they can give Debix up to three contact phone numbers where Debix can contact them if a credit request is being requested under the consumers’ name before creditors approve it. My friend got really interested since if this tool can really assure their protection from identity theft, they would really prefer doing online transactions, as this will be more convenient for them since they both have a busy schedule. And what’s nice is that Debix is having a promo now where consumers’ only pays $89 for the annual subscription to the Identity Protection program plus they also receive 30 days free subscription. They just need a Debix Promotion Code to avail of the promo. Once they are in the enrollment form, consumers just have to type the Debix Promo Code: Debix.

This will be the perfect time to enroll to Debix since aside from being protected, consumers can save big bucks by availing the promo.

Just in the nick of time

Posted by abie on 12:09 PM in ,
I was just right on time this Monday morning at work. I arrived at exactly 8:00 AM. My new boss is kind of strict when it comes to tardiness that’s why I always really try to come to work on time.

We left a little late for work as Howell has to clean the drinking glass that I accidentally tripped. And then when we reached the FX terminal where I usually take my ride to the office, there is a long queue and there is no FX. Talked about having bad luck early in the morning.

But good thing I was still able to clock in at exactly 8:00 AM.

Affordable & Stylish Prescription Eyeglasses

Posted by abie on 11:50 AM in
My father has been complaining about her prescription eyeglasses for days now. I told him that I would pay for his new eyeglasses because I found a Great Discovery: Zenni Optical. They sell very affordable and stylish prescription glasses and they have a wide collection of frames from aluminum alloy to full rim frames and even acetate or mixed material frames. Would you believe they have from their site a Zenni Optical $8 Rx Glasses? That’s really very affordable.

Best Thing Found: Zenni Optical is really the best place to purchase affordable and stylish prescription eyeglasses online.

Be Protected from Identity Theft

Posted by abie on 11:28 AM in
I need to buy the disposable feeding bottle from Avent for my daughter for our next out of town trip but I can’t find a store that still sells the Avent disposable bottle. The store clerks said that it has already been faced out here in the Philippines. I tried checking the website of Avent and I found out that they have a new disposable bottle and it is available in the US. My friend from Los Angeles offered to buy it for me and I just have to pay her back.

I offered to pay her online using my pay pal account but unfortunately, she does not have an online bank account. She told me that they always go to the bank to do all their transactions personally since identity theft is a rampant crime in the US. And since both she and her husband have a very busy schedule, it is really very inconvenient for them. If only there is no issue about identity theft, they would really prefer to do all their banking transactions online.

So I told her to check the site of Debix to learn about the different tools that Debix.com is offering to protect consumers from identity theft. All they have to do is enroll to the Debix Identity Protection program. After enrolling to the program, they will provide Debix with three contact numbers so every time a credit is being requested under their name, Debix will contact them first to verify and they can accept and deny the credit request.

My friend is really interested in this program. She will review it and for sure this will be a great way to protect them and other consumers from identity theft.

On virus, worms, & spy ware

Posted by abie on 12:22 AM in
Looks like our laptop caught a virus yesterday. My sister inserted her USB Thumb Drive and after that, it started posting YM status message in Chinese and then the laptop started to run very, very slow that I almost throw it out of the window. Imagine, it took me 45 minutes to an hour to make a post which I normally can finish in just 10-20 minutes.

We left the Anti Virus and Anti Spyware program running overnight and it caught 64 spy wares. But still after that, it is still very, very slow. Howell copied all the files to our external hard disk (that’s just what he did the whole afternoon as we have tons of files and pictures of Bela on our laptop) and he will reformat it later. So I’ll hit the sign off early tonight as Howell will try to work on our laptop. Hopefully, everything gets fix tomorrow.

Personalized Newborn Gift Baskets

Posted by abie on 12:03 PM in
My best friend is due to give birth this coming end of January or first week of February. They have been waiting for this for more than a year now and since this is their first baby and the first grandchild, all of the family members and their friends are very excited for the baby’s coming.

And so as early as now, I’m already looking from the selection of nice newborn baby gift baskets from bloomingcookies.com so I have something nice to give my best friend and her baby when I visit them in the hospital. They are expecting a baby boy so I’m choosing from their wide choices of baby gift baskets for boys.

What I like about their gift baskets is that it also has a special treat for the parents like gourmet cookies and brownies, which are baked fresh everyday. Also, their gift baskets comes with a cute keepsake containers like the wooden rocking horse which I’m eyeing to buy as my gift for my friend and her baby. The gift basket also contains toys and treats that the baby can play with. Another thing that I like about this shop is they have unique personalized baby gifts where I can ask them to put information about the baby like the baby’s name, birth date, birth weight and other information. I’m excited already. For sure, my best friend will really appreciate my gift for her and her baby.

Another vacation?

Posted by abie on 11:20 PM in
Howell just checked his Northwest World Perks miles and he earned 28,000 from his last trip to the US. I also checked mine and I have 8,000 banked miles. I was also able to convert my Citibank Rewards points to World Perks Miles and was able to earn an additional 11,500 to my current bank miles. So I only have to earn an additional 500 miles to get a free airfare to any Asia destination. I can easily earn that in a month by just using my BPI World Perks card.

I’m so excited. This means that we might be able to go out of the country this year. Maybe Singapore? Hopefully I’ll be able to earn enough from blogging to save for our pocket money.

Small Business Loans

Posted by abie on 11:09 PM in
My husband is planning to expand his photography business by buying new equipments and accessories since they are now starting to accept wedding coverage. But his only problem is that he still doesn’t have enough capital to purchase all the new equipments that he needs. So he is thinking of acquiring small business loans from Accommodative Financial Solutions. Applying for small business loans from them is very easy as my husband only have to fill up an online application and no application fee will be charge to him. And he can get an approval for a $10K- $150K small business loans within 24-28 hours after applying.

This is really the solution to my husband’s problem so he can start buying all the upgrades for his photography business as soon as he gets his loan.

We’re back!!

Posted by abie on 8:08 PM in , ,
We’re back from our Bohol vacation and we really had fun. We finally had our much needed vacation and it’s double the fun since I was able to spend it with my husband, Bela and my mom and dad.

Howell hasn’t downloaded our pictures yet as I immediately checked my blog and my email as soon as we arrived (talked about being an addict. LOL). But I promised to post pictures, kwentos and contact numbers of the hotels and the van service that we rented for those who will be going there this summer. Specially to Jacqui and Peachy. I have the rates of BBC and PINR. I will just scan it and email it to you guys tomorrow.

I also would like to thank all of you guys for remembering my birthday and for all your warm greetings and well wishes. I don’t want to mention each of your names as I might miss somebody but I’m really, really touched.

I would also try to reply to all your comments and messages that each one of you left in my blog. I will start catching up on those later or tomorrow.

Want to play online billiards?

Posted by abie on 7:55 PM in
My father is a billiard fanatic. He loves playing billiard or watching tournament games on TV. And now that he is retired, he was very happy when I introduce to him the online billiard site that I discovered, BilliardMagic.com.

From this site he can download the billiard software and installed it on his PC. Then he just needs to register a user account to play billiards, 8 ball, 9 ball, snooker and pool for fun or for real money. He can even meet other online players from all over the world. For sure, my father will enjoy this online billiard site that I introduce to him.

In need of cash

Posted by abie on 7:42 PM in
I just received a text message from my cousin asking me on where she can get quick cash since they need to pay their electric bills and her payday is not available until next week.

I quickly remembered that she can apply for a payday cash advance so she can get the cash that she needs right away in between her paydays. All she needs to do is submit her application online and she doesn’t need to submit or fax any documents. Usually, she can get the approval within hours of applying. And if she gets approved, the money will be electronically wired ad deposited to her savings or bank account. It is that fast and easy. Plus applications submitted to this site are safe and secure since this site uses 128 bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology so my cousin will be assured that her application and financial information will be secured and kept confidential. Another thing that I like about this payday loan is that they don’t charge an application fee. They also have flexible terms so my cousin won’t have a hard time paying for her short term loan. And this is a sure discrete way to apply for a payday loan.

All my cousin needs to do now is just submit her application online so she can get the cash that she needs as soon as her application gets approved

Another birthday….

Posted by abie on 11:37 PM in ,
another year added to my age. Gosh I can’t believe that I am now 30 years old. I feel that I’m really old already. LOL. But I’m really thankful for the past 30 years of my life that God has given me. I can’t ask for more. I feel that I’m really blessed that God gave me a loving and responsible husband, a beautiful and intelligent daughter, a loving and supportive family and relatives, a good job and all other blessings that God has given me.

In the 30 years of my life, I have experienced everything from pain, to success, to suffering and happiness. And I thank God for giving all of this to me because I wouldn’t be the person that I am now without all of this.

Ok, I’m starting to be sentimental already. And so to celebrate the 30 years of my life, we will be going to Bohol tomorrow with my mom and dad for a much needed vacation. So I’ll be out of the blogging world for a couple of days. But I promise, I’ll post my Bohol Trip kwentos and pictures as soon as I get back. So, bye for now, see you all when I get back on Wednesday.

Oh and before I forget, thank you to all your greetings and for remembering my birthday, Really, really appreciate it. Enjoy the rest of the week guys!!

Looking for golf accessories?

Posted by abie on 11:28 PM in
My friend is a golf fanatic. He has been playing golf for quite a while now. He really loves the sports although he is complaining about how expensive golf accessories are.

And so he was really happy when I gave her the site that I discovered where he can purchase quality golf accessories. From their site he can purchase used Callaway golf balls in mint and nearly perfect condition. They have whole sale pricing for bulk orders so my friend can get bigger savings when he buys his golf balls in bulk. They also sell other golf accessories like golf bags. My friend can just check their site to see different pictures of the bags with their corresponding prices. My friend can even make a side by side comparison of the golf bags by visiting the site’s golf bag reviews page.

This online store accepts all major credit cards and even paypal. So all my friend has to do is order any golf accessory that he wants and it will be delivered right at his doorstep.

Smile!!

Posted by abie on 10:32 AM in
I love it when Bela wakes up with a big smile on her face. This is one of the things that I look forward to in the morning as she rarely wakes up with tantrums. Every morning, when she wakes up, she always greets us with her big smile, just like this morning.

Click here to see her video that I recorded just this morning.

Finally…To Bohol!!

Posted by abie on 9:21 AM in , ,
We’re off to Bohol tomorrow. I’m so excited. I have been waiting for this much needed break and tomorrow is that day.

I already contacted a van rental service to pick us to the airport. He is the same drive that we hired last time we’ve been there and he’s down to earth and very friendly that’s why I decided to hire him again. Plus, he is pretty much like my dad – they both we’re a former seaman, they both look “jeproks” even at their age, and they are both “kalog.” So for sure the two of the will click.

We will proceed with the day tour of Bohol from the airport. After the tour, we will check in at BBC. I plan to take them for a day tour at PINR on our third day. For sure this will be one relaxing and fun vacation. I can’t wait.

A trip to Italy

Posted by abie on 10:33 PM in
I just received a phone call form my friend and she is inviting us to join them to their trip in Hanoi, Vietnam. So we started sending emails to all our friends to invite them also and one of my friends replied that they have to decline this trip as they are saving for their planned trip to Italy. Suddenly, all of us changed our minds and decided to cancel this Vietnam trip so we can all save up and go to Italy. We have been planning for this Italy trip for several years now and all of us agreed that someone should take charge and plan our itinerary so we can at least have a rough estimate of how much we need to save up. I was assigned to do a research about Italy and to do our itinerary.

I first started to do a search of Roma Hotel. I was glad to find out that we won’t have a hard time looking for a hotel to stay so we can visit famous landmarks in Rome like the The Colosseum, Piazza Campidoglio/Capitoline Hill, The Temples of Ancient Rome, Arch of Constantine and a lot of famous landmarks so we can have a feel of the grandeur that was Rome.

.: The Colosseum :.

.: Arch of Constantine :.

Then I started to search for the best places to visit in Florence and found out that Florence has a lot to offer also like the Piazza del Duomo, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Palazzo Pitti among others. I got to find a Firenze Hotel, because for sure, they would want to stay in Florence to explore this great city.

.: Piazza del Duomo :.

.: Giotto’s Bell Tower :.

Another city in Italy that shouldn’t be missed is Milan. There are a lot of great Milano Hotel to choose from where we can stay to experience and explore the famous places in Milan like the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Santa Maria delle Grazie, Sforza Castle and a lot of romantic sights and destinations.

.: Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II :.

.: Sforza Castle :.

And I think our last destination in Italy would be Venice. I have to find a Venezia hotel also because for sure my friends wouldn’t want to miss the St. Mark's Basilica, Campanile, and Palazzo Ducale (Ducal Palace) among the other famous landmarks in Venice.

.: St. Mark's Basilica :.

.: Palazzo Ducale :.

Hopefully this trip will push through because after doing all this research I’m beginning to get excited already for this trip.

A burglar was caught inside my mom’s house.

Posted by abie on 2:32 PM in
When my mom went down around 12:30 PM, she saw a mug that has been used and finds it weird that the thermos was inside the bathroom. She then went up to ask my sister if she went down already to drink a cup of coffee or if she went to the bathroom already. And they we’re really surprised to find out that my sister is still inside her room. Then it really bothered them more since the room of my brother is locked and my brother didn’t went home that night. So they got really suspicious that someone was really inside my brother’s room.

They called the Barangay Tanods and my mom fetched a police from the precinct block near our house. The police that they fetched was of no use since he doesn’t want to go inside our house to check who’s inside my brother’s room. When my mom asked him what they have to do, the police answered “Eh malay ko, ikaw ang chairman dito, ikaw dapat nakaalam kung ano gagawin.” So my mom just asked the policeman to go home since he is really of no use.

Some of our neighbors together with the barangay tanods have to force open the door and they we’re really shocked to discover a girl inside my brother’s room wearing my clothes, my bathing suit, my sister’s bra, my brother’s necklace, and who knows what she has been getting from our stuff. They also found the padlock and the key of our gate in her pocket. But according to them, she really has no intent to steal. She is some crazy girl who just went inside our house maybe because she thought that is where she leaves.

My mom brought her to DSWD for custody since they found out from the medical results that the girl is really crazy.

Oh well, this serves as a lesson to my parents that they should never be complacent and they should never leave their gates always open. This has been their habit since my mom is a barangay chairman and our house is like an open house to our neighbors. This is the first time though that a burglar we’re able to get in their house.

From gray to white

Posted by abie on 1:38 AM in
Don’t you love it when it turns from gray to white. The shades of the opps in PPP, that is.

Sometimes when I’m just idle inside my room, I will just click refresh over and over again. If I’m lucky, the opss that is shaded as gray might turn into white which means it is now available for reservations.

I have been doing the same thing for an hour now but it seems this isn’t my luck day. So I think it’s time for me to hit the sack now. I might just try my luck tomorrow.

Darn!!

Posted by abie on 11:27 PM in
Darn, I lost another thousand bucks. Remember my post just this week about my ranting and about my suspicion after I discovered that I just lost P1,100 from the money that I kept inside my bag?

After I discovered just this Monday, that somebody’s been getting (I still don’t want to use the term stealing) money from my bag, I started to arrange my personal money and put it in my wallet. And I can clearly remember that the money that I kept there is exactly P10, 500. I’m just at home from Tuesday to Wednesday since I’m sick. I tried to bring my bag with me everywhere I go inside the house. But there are times that I will leave it in the living room while I’m upstairs and yaya is in the living room with Bela. I know I already said that I already learned my lesson and that I should take good care of my important belongings but maybe there is still a part of part me that still wants to believe that we can still trust her. And I confidently thought that whaterver monkey business she’s doing, she will not be brave enough to do it while I was at home.

But lo and behold, when I checked the P10, 500 in my wallet because I need to pay something, I discovered that is P1, 000 short. I couldn’t believe that I’m just at home, and it’s just me, Bela and yaya in the house for two days and I still lost P1, 000. Should I still continue to believe that my yaya is still innocent? P2, 100 is not a big amount of money. But my gosh, I can easily give it to her if she badly needs it. I just can’t stand the fact that I’m taking care of a thief in my house and that someone I truly trust can be doing this to me.

I don’t know what to do now. I haven’t told anyone else from my family about this except Howell. I don’t know how they will react so I’m scared to tell them about my speculations. I’m pissed. I don’t want to think about it too much but as days passed, I’m beginning to think if I can still trust her. Darn…. I really don’t know what to do.

Protect yourself from Identity Theft

Posted by abie on 2:17 PM in
I was off from work for two days because I was not feeling well since Sunday. I was doing a DVD marathon of one of my favorite TV series, CSI Miami. One of the cases that were handle by the CSI team was an identity theft crime. It made me really curios as to what identity theft really is and how serious and rampant it is as a crime.

I did some research on the net and found out that is one of the serious crimes committed and a lot of people have been victims of it. What usually happens is that an imposter obtains key information like the victim’s Social Security number or driver’s license and they use that information to get a credit, purchase something or obtain a service while impersonating as the victim. I remember my friend from LA mentioned to me that they always do their banking personally because identity theft is so rampant in the States that’s why they are afraid to be a victim of it.

But it’s also good to know that there are available tools like the technology from LoudSiren that can help consumers protect themselves from identity theft. What consumers have to do is to enroll to the LoudSiren (Debix) Fraud Alert Management. Enrollment only takes 3 minutes and after the enrollment, they will file a fraud alert for your name to all the major credit bureaus. And once a credit is being requested under your name, the creditors will contact your LoudSiren Safe Number so you can verify and authorize first this credit request before the creditors approve it.

This is really one effective way of helping consumers protect themselves from identity theft.

Cash Advance for a new PC

Posted by abie on 11:07 AM in
After the numerous booking that my husband got for their photo and video services, he now has a lot of pending jobs for the lay out of the album. Since our laptop at home is really very slow, it is not helping my husband in speeding up and finishing all his pending work. He has a lot of deadline to meet next week and so he finally decided to buy a new PC that he can use for his business. The problem is, his payday won’t be available until next week. He really wants to buy the new PC this weekend so he can start working on all his pending jobs.

So I suggested to him that he avail a cash advance since it is the fastest way for him to get the cash that he needs. All he needs to do is submit his application online and he will not be even required to fax any documents. And once his application gets approved, the cash will be deposited electronically to his savings or checking account.

But with numerous sites on the net offering payday loans, he is uncertain as to where he will avail his payday loan. And I remembered the site that I discovered where I could read reviews about the different services being offered on the net from people that have used the products I’m interested in. Like they have a page where they post a list of the different sites which offer payday loans, with the reviews and rankings of the people who have availed of the payday loan. All my husband needs to do now is read the reviews and rankings so he can better decide where to avail his payday loan.

Reviving an Old Blog - Bela's Domain

Posted by abie on 12:26 AM in
Since I was not doing anything this afternoon, I was able to revive and do postings for one of my old blog. I used this blog before to post pictures of books that I was selling, but then got too lazy to update it. And since I use my blog now for paid blogging, most of my stories of Bela got buried deep in the archives specially when opps are pouring.

This blog that I revived will be dedicated for my dear Princess Bela only – her milestones, her tricks and antics, her favorites, or just about the everyday going on in her life. For now, this blog will all be about her only. But who knows, if I find the opportunity of paid blogging knocking in, then why should I say no to it. LOL.

It is still a work in progress, but the URL for my other blog is: http://princessbela16.blogspot.com/

I’ll be working on its blog roll in the coming days. I will just leave a message in your cboxes to link up my new blog to your blog and hope I will get better search engine positioning for this blog.

And oh, before I forget, just a heads up. Howell (together with Gelo) agreed that they will start a group of daddy bloggers. Of course, Peachy and I we’re able to convince them, after they had seen how much we have been earning from our blog, that there is really money from blogging. LOL. He is still working on reviving his old blog also so I will let you know guys and I will also ask a big favor from all of you to link him up once his blog is already up and running.

Alphabet, Singing, and Bela

Posted by abie on 12:06 AM in
She can really sing.
She got this talent from Howell.
And she really knows her alphabet.
This is one of her favorite song.
Her favorite letter now is W, X, Y, Z.
She always loves to play with her alphabet chart before going to bed. She would ask us to pint to each of the letters and she will gladly identify each together with the picture beside the letter.

You can view the video of Bela singing the Alphabet song here.

Lunch with Peachy, Gelo & Joaqui

Posted by abie on 10:55 PM in
Last Sunday after Bela and Joaqui’s class at the Little Gym, we had lunch at Banana Leaf together with Peachy, Gelo and Joaqui. We had our favorite Roti Canai for appetizer, Penang Char, Black Lamb and Tilapia with Malayan Sauce (as recommended by Jane, according to Peachy). Food was really yummy and busog talaga kami after lunch.

Bela and Joaqui had fun playing with the mini falls (mina falls nga ba Peachy?) located at the entrance. While Howell and Gelo agreed that they will start the group of daddy bloggers since they are now convinced that there’s really big money from blogging.

Peachy, Gelo and Joaqui have to go to Antipolo to fetch Gelo’s mom while we have to do some shopping for our Bohol trip so we parted ways after lunch. Hope we do this more often as we really had fun. Small chitchats and konting chika lang, ayos na. And thanks for the tip re: 5ml dropper of Safety First. Yaya was really happy as it made her life a little easier.

Hopefully, we can find a schedule that is okay for all of us so we can push through with our plan to go to Fun Ranch together. Toni, want to join us? We can wait for you, Paul and lance after class.

Here is the picture that yaya Cris took while we are having lunch:

Free Classified Ads

Posted by abie on 2:22 PM in
My friend received a free cell phone from her cell phone subscriber for being a loyal customer for two years now. The phone that she got for free is of a lower model than what she is currently using now and so she wanted to sell the phone for extra cash.

I gave her the site of an online service where she can post free classified ads, the site of ohsohandy.com. This is where I always go to if I’m looking for ads for real estate, jobs, personals, or anything general on sale. I also use their free classifieds to post items that I want to sell online.

Since my friend is from Los Angeles, I told her to visit the site of Los Angeles Classifieds. All she needs to do is just sign up for ohsohandy.com account. After signing up she can then post her ads for free at LA Classifieds.

I hope she gets to sell her phone fast as she promised to treat me for helping her find the free classified ads of ohsohandy.com.

From 2 to 0

Posted by abie on 9:47 AM in
Nice told me yesterday that google updated their page ranking again and her site now has a 0 PR. I checked my blog immediately after Nice told me the bad news and I was a little relieved to find out that my PR is still 2.

But just like I told Nice, I’m already expecting that in just a few days or for their next update, my PR might drop also. And just as I expected, when I checked this morning my PR is now 0 from 2. What the $%&^&. I don’t know how they calculate the PR. I know for a fact that my traffic increased and I’m link to a lot of bloggers also plus the fact that I always do my daily rounds of blog hopping.

But there is nothing we can really do about this. Maybe, all blog who is into paid blogging will automatically get a PR of 0 which is really not a good basis. Oh well, too bad, so sad.

Cendrillon

Posted by abie on 7:45 AM in
This is a Filipino restaurant in Soho, New York and was just featured in 24 Oras (news channel of GMA 7) last night. They are a popular restaurant in NY (that’s why they are located in the high end district in NY) and even Hollywood stars like Clair Danes and Mel Gibson, visit them to have a taste of Filipino food.

I remember when Kuya Andy treated us for dinner there with here wife, Ate Marivic. The food was really great and it really made me feel at home. We even met the owner and he’s really hospitable and he almost knows all his customers.

I’m really glad that there are Filipinos who are making it big in New York. Hope more Filipinos will be like the Cendrillon owners, wherein they became successful by promoting our own products.

Below are some of the pictures that we took when we had our dinner there last 2005.

Some updates….

Posted by abie on 9:31 PM in ,
I’m feeling much better now. Although, I still might not report to work tomorrow so I can rest some more.

Bela too is doing much better now. In fact she is more active than yesterday and she started playing with my husband’s used golf balls. Her colds are gone and her cough is almost gone also. But since she is taking antibiotics, she has to drink it until Saturday. Her appetite is also back. Since Friday, she only consumes 2 bottles per day. But since Sunday, she now consumes 5 bottles plus she eats rice during lunch and dinner.

A little drowsy but happy…

Posted by abie on 11:42 AM in ,
I’m feeling a little drowsy now after doing 9 posts for my blog. Howell told me to just stay in bed and rest, but of course I’m hard headed and didn’t listen to my loving husband. LOL.

Last night my joints are aching and have asked him to give me a massage. I wanted to call a home service masseuse but since Howell offered to give me a massage, then why not. It’s free and it comes with his TLC. I fell asleep during the massage but then I felt someone tugging my hand, and it was Bela. She was saying “wake up, wum” (Wake up mom) because she wants me to put her to sleep. So even though, I’m not feeling well, I woke up to put Bela to sleep. And just after five minutes of tapping her legs and after giving Bela her good night kiss, she immediately fell asleep.

Now, Bela is downstairs with yaya. I better go down there now as she might be looking for me already.

Online Degree Programs for my brother

Posted by abie on 10:54 AM in
My brother did a major decision last year to resign from his day job as a software programmer so he can personally manage our cell phone store. He said that at least if ever he made a mistake in his decision, he is still young and single and he can easily go back to his old career as a programmer.

After being out in the Information Technology field for a year now, he felt that he already missed a lot on the new technology. And he also realized that if ever he decides to go back to the IT field, he would find it difficult to go back since his information is already outdated.

So I suggested to him that he take graduate degree programs or certificate programs to update his knowledge on the IT field. His only problem is, he manage the store from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Mondays to Sundays and so he really don’t have time to take full time degree programs. So I was really happy to inform him that he can enroll at capella university. Capella University is an accredited and reputable fully online university where he can enroll for a graduate degree program or certificate programs. So he can finish any degree program while he is managing our cell phone shop. And since this university is reputable, he can use it as part of his credentials if ever he plans to go back as a software programmer.

Choco Fountain Ranting

Posted by abie on 10:32 AM in
My choco fountain is not working again. I sent it for repair before Christmas because the first time I use it, it just worked for 5 minutes and then the motor stops running. After sending it for repair we we’re able to use it for Christmas and did not have any problems.

Then I used it again last Friday for 3 hours non stop. I didn’t turned it off and left it running the whole time as I want to test if it will last. And just as I expected, after 3 hours, the motor stopped running again.

I brought it in again for repair together with Peachy’s choco fountain since it stopped working too. But I think even if they repaired it successfully, it will malfunction again after 1-2 times of use.

I talked to the supplier and she said that I might be doing something wrong that’s why it’s always malfunctioning. But I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong. I followed the instructions very well and even Peachy did a research on the net on how to use it, but it still malfunctioned.

So if ever you are considering buying a choco fountain, don’t buy the Mc Gregor brand. It is really not durable and I think it’s just a waste of your hard earned money. Unless it’s okay with you to always bring it to the service center for repair after every use.

Yaya Ranting

Posted by abie on 10:15 AM in
My yaya is starting to irritate me already. She’s been with us for seven months now. We have been very lenient with her and we don’t even impose rules on her. Maybe that’s why she’s so comfortable now that she tries to answer back or tries to reason out if she doesn’t want to do what I’m asking her to do.

Like last Sunday, I was already not feeling well and I requested for a hot soup for merienda. And she keeps on saying that there’s a donut in the refrigerator. Arrg, I don’t like a donut, I want a hot soup.

And then yesterday, I was asking her to put back Bela’s play mat because Bela kept on lying down on the floor and the floor is cold without the mat. But she didn’t listen and she just said that the mat is upstairs.

And then another thing that bothers me is this. Yesterday, I checked the money in my bag. You see, I put my money in different envelopes in my bag. One envelope is for my credit card payments, the second envelope is for the loan payment that Howell is giving me and the third envelope is my personal money. When I checked on the envelopes, one envelope is P500 short, and the other envelope is P600 short. I don’t think I’m the one who got the P1,100 since each envelope has a post it where I list all the debits and the credits for that envelope. A month ago, I already lost P500 but I didn’t take it as a big deal. Now, I’m wondering who has been getting the money in my bag. I don’t want to make speculations and I don’t want to jump into conclusions but there’s just the three of us in the house. I was asking Howell for his reaction and all he could say is he doesn’t know.and he just told me that I shouldn’t just leave my bags lying in the living room. Oh well, at least now I learned my lessons.

Now I’m thinking is it still worth it to retain her as our yaya? Actually, she’s the best out of all the 4 yayas that I got. She has initiative and I think she loves Bela and takes good care of her. There are just instances that she really irritates me. Well we’ll see….

Stock Options?

Posted by abie on 8:56 AM in
I have a friend who works for the stock exchange and has been convincing me to invest in stock options. She said that it’s really a good investment and you can expect high returns as long as you study the market and the optionable stocks. I really wanted to invest in stocks but my problem is I really don’t have a good knowledge of the stock market.

So I did a research on the internet and I discovered Power Options. They provide a great tool that can give me the essential data that I need to decide which stock options I should invest in. Power Options have the SmartSearchXL options screener which can help me sort, filter, and analyze all 2,900+ optionable stocks and 190,000+ options online so I can best decide the stock options that can give me the highest returns.

I have signed up for there 14 day free trial where I can get full access to all the features of Power Options. For sure after this 14 day trial, I will definitely get Power Options to help me start deciding on my stock investment.

Bye Teacher

Posted by abie on 8:27 AM in ,
Howell hasn’t been able to attend Bela’s class at Little Gym for a couple of weeks now. Last December, he was away on training and during Bela’s first day of class for this quarter, Howell has two events to cover, a birthday party and a debut.

Last week, he was able to go with us to class. When the class was over and it’s time to say goodbye, he heard Bela say “Bye, teacher.” Howell was really shocked and amazed. He said that he really missed a lot in just a couple of weeks that he was away. But he’s too proud and happy that her Bela can really talk now. Oh, we can’t wait for the time that Bela will talk to us non stop and start to ask us questions where we don’t know where to get the answers.

At home

Posted by abie on 8:21 AM in
I went to Grepalife clinic yesterday for consultation. The doctor said that I’m already having flu like symptoms so she advised me to take a rest for one day. So I’m home today. Howell reminded to just stay in bed and don’t touch the computer. But here I am still checking if there are opportunities available. LOL.

So I have the whole day to rest and be with my Bela. Hope I’ll get better tomorrow. I better be since we’re living for Bohol on Sunday. Could it be that I’m just really excited for the trip that’s why I got sick? LOL.

Credit Cards Comparison

Posted by abie on 7:52 AM in
My brother has been eyeing to buy a Mac laptop that he can use for his business. And he just saw that there is a promo that they are offering that he can defer the payment to one year if he uses his credit card. The problem is he does not have a credit card and he has a bad credit score since he always fail to pay his credit card on time. He is really dying to buy the laptop and so I helped him by referring him to the site of CreditCardSearchengine.com.

From their site, my brother can search, compare, and apply for all types of credit card offers. They even have a section where my brother can search for the best offer being offered for Bad Credit Credit Cards. Instead of just applying to the first credit card offer that he receives via mail, here he can compare the best card offer that will suit his needs. And once he made his choice, he can immediately apply online.

I hope he can get his credit card so he can buy the laptop that he’s been dying to buy for a long time now.

Friend Award from Vina

Posted by abie on 3:01 PM in
I received another friendship award from Vina. Thanks for this sis. Really appreciate it.

I never realized that I would gain true friends online. Just like what my friend Ems, have said, YM and our blog has been our invisible phone that kept us in contact with each another.

I’m sharing this award to my new friends that I met through blogging: Mich, Kelly, Pam, Erika, Petra and Toni.

What Age Do You Act?

Posted by abie on 2:51 PM in
Snagged this from Jane.

I was surprised to find out that I act my age pala….LOL. I’m 29 years old and will turn 30 on Saturday. Hopefully as I turn 30, I’ll be more mature and learn more things in life. Well I better be. 1 year to go and my age won’t be in the calendar anymore.

You Act Like You Are 29 Years Old

You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.
You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.
The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.

Business Improvement: Credit Card Processing System

Posted by abie on 2:42 PM in
It’s a start of a new year again. We are so thankful that our cell phone shop did well and we can say that the sales were quite good last year. I have been talking to my brother and we have been reviewing how our business went last year and we both agreed that although sales are good, our shop still needs a lot of improvement.

We both agreed that one of the improvements that our shop need is to setup credit card processing system. We lost a number of sales last year because there are some customers that are looking for Credit Card Accepting merchants.

And so I started searching the net for a company that can help us set up a Visa & Mastercard Payment Solutions. I discovered the site of A+ Merchant Services and I have filled out their application form. I’m just waiting for their account representative to contact me to set up a merchant account so we can start accepting credit card payments from our customers.

Bela’s New Potty Trainer and Trunki

Posted by abie on 10:09 AM in ,
We bought this Fisher Price Royal Potty Trainer for Bela at Baby & Co. yesterday.

She already has a potty trainer and it was given to her by one of her godmother during her baptism. But she wouldn’t want to sit on it that’s why we can’t start to potty train her. So we decided to buy her another potty trainer. A much nicer one, with sound effects and one that is more colorful to entice Bela to use it. And so I saw this cute Fisher Price Potty Trainer. It has a musical reinforcement when a child first sits and a royal fanfare with each success. Hopefully we will be able to successfully potty train her with this new potty trainer that we bought.

I also showed Howell this cute luggage for kids that Peachy showed me – the Trunki. It is a cute light weight and durable luggage for kids and they can actually ride on it.

When Bela saw it, she immediately said, “ride” and she tried riding on it. Howell actually liked it and he wants to buy it also so Bela can use it for our Bohol trip. But I told him to think about it first as it is not cheap. Maybe, we will go back to Podium this Saturday if we finally decide to buy it.
