Birthday Party Kwento Part 1 - November 16
Howell and I woke up early because we wanted to bring Bela to Sto. Nino church for her birthday mass. But the birthday girl woke up late so we we’re late for the mass.
After hearing mass, Howell took us home because he has to drop by his office to get the other donations for Hospicio from his officemates. Then he has to go to Letran to pick up the lights that our videographer will be using for Bela’s party the next day.
While I was waiting for Howell at home, I was busy selecting the pictures for Bela’s AVP. Howell arrived around 1 PM, we had lunch and we left the house around 2 PM for Bela’s party at Hospicio de San Jose.
When we arrived, Jollibee crew is already starting to set up the venue. The kids are also at the venue with their house parents. The party started around 3:30 PM.
It was the usual Jollibee party. They had games for the kids and Jollibee joined the games for the kids. Then it was eating time. We served barbeque, cheeseburger, spaghetti and softdrinks. Nakakatuwa kse napaka independent ng mga kids. Even the youngest (which I think is 2 years old) can eat on their own na. Sinubuan ko nga yung isang bata and nagalit sa akin kse ayaw pala na pinakikialaman sila. I learned from the house parents that they are really training the kids to be independent.
After eating time, Jollibee had a dance number. Bela was so happy and she was dancing with Jollibee. Sanay na sanay na talaga sya to be surrounded by kids, di sya nahihiya. The kids were also having fun and they even dance with Jollibee.
Then we had the candle blowing and kids sang a Happy Birthday song for Bela. This is Bela’s favorite part, as she loves blowing her birthday candle. Then the kids sang a Thank You song for us.
I was really touched as one of the kids approached me and said “Ate, sobrang saya ko po ngayon kse dito po kayo nag celebrate ng birthday ni Bela.” He’s an 11 year old kid name Jay-R. Bigla ko na realize, simple deeds can really make a difference talaga. At least for that day, nakapag pasaya kami ng mga bata.
And with that, I really would want to say thank you to all who gave their donations for the kids. Super saya talaga nila. Next year ulit ha.
After the party we we’re so tired na. We had dinner out lang then umuwi na kami agad.
After putting Bela to sleep, I continued selecting pictures for her AVP and to download mp3s to be use for the AVP. I finished around 1 AM na. Then I woke Howell up because he has to bring the CD containing the pictures and the mp3s to my cousin because he’ll be working on the AVP for Bela’s party the next day. (Talk about cramming talaga)…hehehe
Pictures to follow ha. I still haven’t selected from the pictures that Howell took during the party.
