Question tag from Jane

Posted by abie on 1:03 PM in
What gift/s are you giving your kids this Christmas?

We still haven’t decided yet what to give Bela for Christmas. I still have to check the internet as to what I will ask Howell to buy sa US. And I also have to check the price if our budget will allow us to buy it. But here are a few we have in mind: Electronic laptop, Kitchen Set, V.Smile Enhanced TV Learning System, Little Superstar: Sing-Along Stage, Play House and Doll House. So for my question, what would you want to receive this Christmas?

I’m tagging Toni, Pheng, Vina & Yvetchie.

I’ve been tagged by Nice.

Nice question is: What is your Greatest Fear as a Mom?

My answer.

Actually, I have the same fear as Nice. Since I’m a working mom, I fear that my daughter will be much closer to her yaya than me. So like Nice, I try to make it a point to spend every free time I have with Bela. I’m always the one who puts her to sleep, we have a play time just before she goes to sleep, and I try to spend every minute of my weekend with her.

Another fear that I have (although alam ko matagl-tagal pa to), is the time when she’s a teenager already and she will start to meet guys or have boy friends. Parang di ata ako ready para don. LOL.

So I’m tagging all the moms who want to answer Nice questions. Please leave a comment if you’ve done it so I can read your answers also.

I went gaga shopping online last week during the Thanksgiving sale. I ordered 2 new crocs for Bela, and an alice for me and my sister (our Christmas gift for her).

And I bought all of this using my earnings from paid blogging. My mom was panicking already when I told her that I just ordered 4 crocs. Sayang daw pera. But I was proud to tell her that I didn’t spend anything from my own pocket to buy it. I told her about my earnings from paid blogging and so she calmed down after that

Photo Blanket – A unique Christmas Gift

Posted by abie on 8:01 PM in
We started our Christmas shopping last weekend and we finished shopping for both my god children and my husband’s god children. We also finished shopping for all the kids in our family. So it’s just Bela’s grandparents that are left on our Christmas shopping gift list.

We’re thinking of buying something special for them as our Christmas gift. We can’t think of a unique gift, until I stumbled upon this site which makes unique photo blankets.

All I need to do is just select a number of solo pictures of my daughter and some of her pictures together with her grandparents, then I can just email or upload it to their site and they will dye the pictures to the blanket fabric to create a unique and personalized photo blanket. It will only take them 3-5 days to produce the photo blanket and 3-5 days for shipping so it will be delivered to us just in time for Christmas.

For sure, Bela’s grandparents will definitely love this gift as they will be able to see a picture of their grand daughter every time they use it.

Swamped with paper work

Posted by abie on 7:04 PM in
It’s almost mid terms week for my sister who is in college and she is swamped with tons of home works and paper works to do. She still needs to finish a number of papers and she feels that she doesn’t have enough time to finish all of it.

That’s why I suggested that she gets the writing services of Writing-Services.org. She can get their custom writing service where she can input her own ideas and opinions, and Writing-Services.org will write an essay or research work for her based on her instructions and research materials within 12 hours. Writing-Services.org employs UK and US writers so my sister will be sure that she can get quality research work from them.

She can even check their websites for tips on essay editing, essay writing, writing a book critique or just about any tips and tricks in writing an effective article or research work.

We’re home

Posted by abie on 4:15 PM in , ,
Finally, after staying for 3 days and 2 nights at the hospital, we we’re finally allowed to go home. I miss our room, our bed, and most specially Howell and I miss our just before bedtime play with our dear Bela. While we are at the hospital kse, Bela stays at her lolo and her lola’s house.

Bela must have missed her dad so much that she was really happy to see Howell when they went to CGH this morning. After seeing her dad, he immediately kissed and hugged Howell. And on our way home, Bela checked the back seat several times if Howell is already there. For two days kse, everytime I bring her home, she always checked the back seat and Howell is not there and she keeps on shouting “dad, dad, dad.” Super daddy’d girl talaga.

Both of them are sleeping now so I’m now right here in front of the computer, blogging, and checking for some paid opps.

Thanks again for all your prayers.

Update: Howell’s Operation

Posted by abie on 7:08 PM in ,
Howell was sent to the operating room around 10 this morning. He looks nervous (which surprised me) as this is his first time to have an operation. After an hour, I went to the OR and inquired if his operation is already finished. I was informed by the guard that he might be at the recovery room already as Dr. Cheu (Howell’s surgeon) went out of the OR already. So I went to the recovery room to checked if he’s already there. And I was so relieved to find out that he’s already resting at the Recovery Room.

He is now back in his room, resting. But he still can’t walk as he has to stay flat until 11 PM. He’s left leg is still numb as the anesthesia hasn’t wear off.

Thanks for all your prayers and hopefully we’ll be able to go home tomorrow (grabe, I super hate hospitals talaga. I don’t like the smell, how it looks, etc. so I’m really hoping that tonight is our last night at CGH)

Tidbits

Posted by abie on 12:58 PM in , ,
It was a busy weekend again for us. My brother (who is taking care of our cell phone store in Greenhills) went to Cebu for a vacation with his friends so I was tasked to take care of the shop while he is gone.

Saturday

I have to man our cell phone store and Bela has a make up class at Little Gym in the afternoon. So Howell drive me to Greenhills before lunch. Then he has to fetch Bela and yaya at home for Bela’s make up class. I asked them to pick me up and I will just leave the store to our tinderea so I can go with them sa class.

The class starts at 3 PM. I think this is the prefect schedule for Bela since this is the time that she wakes up after her afternoon nap. She has no tantrums at all even with the new teacher (Teacher Maan). She participated in all the activities and she even volunteers to do the activity with Teacher Maan. So we are thinking if we will transfer her to the 3 PM schedule next quarter. Also, the 3 PM class has less students compared to the 12:30, Sunday class (There are 12 students na ata for the 12:30 Sunday class). The only thing that we hate is the heavy traffic on Saturdays that’s why we prefer her Sunday schedule. Also, most of the events that Howell is covering falls on a Saturday so we might not have a driver to take us to El Pueblo every Saturday if Howell is not available. Oh well, we still have a month to think about it as the new quarter will start Jan 2 pa.

After Bela’s class, we decided to go to Shangri-la to do our Christmas shopping. We left Shangri-la around 7 PM and we head back to Greenhills to get the cell phones and the money from our tindera. Greenhills was a total chaos. We cant even find a spot to park so I just asked our tindera to just meet us at the Vira Mall Entrance.

Sunday

Bela has a class again at Little Gym so we just drop off the cell phones and the money to our tindera. After class we went mall hopping. We went to Glorietta first to buy the Havaianas for Howell’s nieces and my cousins and titas. Then I finished my Christmas shopping list for my god children and my other cousins. Then we went to Shangri-la again to pick up that stuff that we bought last night (we left it kse at the gift-wrapping section. We don’t want to wait for it since there is a long queue). Then we went back to Greenhills to pick up the cell phones again and Howell has to buy some stuffs that he need for his US training. Pero super traffic ulit kaya almost pasara na din mga stores when we arrived.

This weekend was really tiring but I’m relieved also that I’m almost done with our Christmas shopping. I want to finish it kse before Howell leaves.

Quiet lang kayo sa brother ko ha. Parang di din kse ako nag bantay sa store at maghapon din ako wala don. LOL

Today

Howell is scheduled to have a minor operation to remove the cyst in his foot. He will be admitted today for all the laboratory exms and the surgery will be done tomorrow. (Which means I might not be able to go online starting this evening untl Wednesday. So pahinga muna sa paid opps. LOL.)

Please pray for Howell ha. Hope everything will be ok after the operation.

Birthday Party Kwento Part 1 - November 16

Posted by abie on 9:44 AM in , , ,
Howell and I woke up early because we wanted to bring Bela to Sto. Nino church for her birthday mass. But the birthday girl woke up late so we we’re late for the mass.

After hearing mass, Howell took us home because he has to drop by his office to get the other donations for Hospicio from his officemates. Then he has to go to Letran to pick up the lights that our videographer will be using for Bela’s party the next day.

While I was waiting for Howell at home, I was busy selecting the pictures for Bela’s AVP. Howell arrived around 1 PM, we had lunch and we left the house around 2 PM for Bela’s party at Hospicio de San Jose.

When we arrived, Jollibee crew is already starting to set up the venue. The kids are also at the venue with their house parents. The party started around 3:30 PM.

It was the usual Jollibee party. They had games for the kids and Jollibee joined the games for the kids. Then it was eating time. We served barbeque, cheeseburger, spaghetti and softdrinks. Nakakatuwa kse napaka independent ng mga kids. Even the youngest (which I think is 2 years old) can eat on their own na. Sinubuan ko nga yung isang bata and nagalit sa akin kse ayaw pala na pinakikialaman sila. I learned from the house parents that they are really training the kids to be independent.

After eating time, Jollibee had a dance number. Bela was so happy and she was dancing with Jollibee. Sanay na sanay na talaga sya to be surrounded by kids, di sya nahihiya. The kids were also having fun and they even dance with Jollibee.

Then we had the candle blowing and kids sang a Happy Birthday song for Bela. This is Bela’s favorite part, as she loves blowing her birthday candle. Then the kids sang a Thank You song for us.

I was really touched as one of the kids approached me and said “Ate, sobrang saya ko po ngayon kse dito po kayo nag celebrate ng birthday ni Bela.” He’s an 11 year old kid name Jay-R. Bigla ko na realize, simple deeds can really make a difference talaga. At least for that day, nakapag pasaya kami ng mga bata.

And with that, I really would want to say thank you to all who gave their donations for the kids. Super saya talaga nila. Next year ulit ha.

After the party we we’re so tired na. We had dinner out lang then umuwi na kami agad.

After putting Bela to sleep, I continued selecting pictures for her AVP and to download mp3s to be use for the AVP. I finished around 1 AM na. Then I woke Howell up because he has to bring the CD containing the pictures and the mp3s to my cousin because he’ll be working on the AVP for Bela’s party the next day. (Talk about cramming talaga)…hehehe

Pictures to follow ha. I still haven’t selected from the pictures that Howell took during the party.

Bye Rebel

And Howell let go of his Canon SLR 350D.

He sold it to my brother because he’s really in love with the new Canon 40D. Hopefully he’ll be able to buy it next week, as I know he’s already dying to get it.

Niloloko ko nga sya kagabi noong binigay na nya sa brother ko yung 350D nya. Sabi ko “Wow, you we’re able to let go of your Rebel”. Sagot nya “Yup, coz I’m getting a much better camera.”

Nice Jewelry for my mom

Posted by abie on 3:16 PM
My mom has always been there for us. Specially after I gave birth to Bela, she has always been there to help me and my husband take care of our dear daughter. And since my husband and I are both working, it is my mom who really took care of Bela up to the time my daughter is 1 year old. And even now that we have a nanny, my mom is still always there for our daughter. And so we want to give her something extra special for Christmas as a sign of our gratitude for all that she has done for our family. So we’re thinking of giving her jewelry.

I was browsing the net when I chance upon this great online jewelry store. They have a wide range of collection of rings, bracelets, pendants, earrings, and necklaces. The site is categorized by product - rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, gifts, engagement & wedding, by material – diamond, gemstone, Citrines, Pearls, Cubic Zirconia, Gold and Silver, or by price. By clicking on the picture of any item that I want will give me a larger view of the item, and detailed product information such as the weight, the metal information and stone information. Plus I’ll be able to save a lot if buy from them because their price is more than 50% cheaper than other jewelry stores. They even offer free shipping for purchased items worth $99 up.

I’m now confuse as to what to give my mom after seeing all the gorgeous jewelries they have from their collection. I’m trying to select from their Solitaire Diamond Pendants, which will go perfectly with a nice necklace, or from their Christmas Jewelry collection. But after making up my mind, buying a gift for my mom will just be a breeze, as I just need to click the Buy Now button to purchase it. Then I just have to click Proceed to Check Out button, enter my billing and delivery information, and pay for my purchases and it will be delivered right at our doorstep. They accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover card for payments. They are even verified by Verisign so I’m sure that shopping online from them is safe because Verisign uses the latest encryption technology so I’m sure that my credit card information is secure with them.

I just need to make a decision as to what I will order and that’s it – I will be able to buy something nice for my mom and at the same time I was able to save big bucks from the discounts that I got from their store.

We have our Visa

Posted by abie on 8:57 AM in , ,
Howell will be attending a 2 weeks training in Washington, DC this coming December. And he thought that this will be a perfect timing for me and Bela to apply for our US Visa.

So yesterday was our interview. This is what’s keeping me busy after Bela’s birthday. I have been busy preparing for Bela’s birthday that I was already cramming preparing for all the forms and documents we need for the interview. But I’m more relax this time. During my last two applications kse, I was so stressed out. It’s like my whole life depended on it.

Howell was not allowed to enter the Pavillion area (even if he is an employee). They have a strict no appointment, no entry policy, so it was just Bela and me for more than 2 hours.

We arrived at the embassy around 11:45. We have to line up first outside to confirm our schedule before we are allowed to enter. Then we have to proceed at the Pavilion for Step 1 (Submit documents for encoding). Bela was manageable. She was just running around so I just have to follow her. After an hour of waiting at the Pavilion, we we’re asked to go inside for finger scanning. Since they have a fast lane for senior citizens and for applicants with children, after finger scanning I just waited for a couple of minutes and a lady assisted us to Window 10 for our interview. We didn’t have to wait for our number to be called.

The interview was a breeze also. This is how it goes:

Consul: Do you have relatives in the US?
Me: My husband has relatives in the US. He works here by the way (syempre kailangan bangitin ko talaga na nag wo-work si hubby sa US Embassy..hehehe)
Consul: You have been to the US right?
Me: Yes, 2001 & 2004.
Consul: Who is she? (Pointing to Bela)
Me: She’s my daughter.
Consul: How old is she?
Me: She just turned two last week.
Consul: And she hasn’t been to the US.
Me: No, that’s why we wanted to take her with us when my husband goes to training to DC so we can treat her to Disneyland after.
Consul: Ok, your visas have been approved. Please proceed to the Pavilion to have your passport delivered to you.
Me: Bela, say thank you.
Bela: Deadma lang.
Consul: That’s ok. She had a long day already.
Me: Thank you ma’am.

Oh, I was just so happy. Pamasahe na lang kulang….hehehe…But we’re not going with Howell this December. I don’t think Bela can handle a 16-20 hours of flight yet. Maybe next year.

Howell's 1st TV Exposure

Posted by abie on 10:09 PM in ,
I’ve been wanting to post this for months now but I have to wait for it be aired first.

So here it is, my husband’s first TV exposure. Not as an actor of course, but as a photographer.

Day Off, one of the prime time shows at GMA’s QTV, celebrated its anniversary by treating 100 winners for a day off and my husband was the official photographer for the studio event.

Below are some of the pictures that he took.

The second part of the anniversary special will be shown next Saturday at QTV at 8:30PM.

Do watch out for the last part because Fokalente (our business name) will be flashed during the credits section. LOL

Destination Italy

Posted by abie on 5:11 PM in
One of the things that my office buddies have in common is our love to travel. One of my friends just got back from her Europe trip and she is really raving about it. So we all agreed that we will start saving some money every payday so we can all go to Italy - our dream destination.

This got me really excited and so I started searching for Italy hotels. And while I was doing my search, I found a lot of great Italy attractions and at the top of the list is the famous Sistine Chapel. This is really something that we shouldn’t miss on our trip to Italy.

We also plan on going to Rome, so I started searching for Rome Hotels so we can go check out Rome attractions like The Coliseum which symbolizes Rome. There’s also the Pantheon, The Imperial Forums, the Vatican and the museums in Vatican.

Venice also has a lot to offer for tourist like us especially to those who are looking for a romantic destination. One of the famous Venice attractions is the Grand Canal. There’s also the Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale), which is the most impressive secular building in Venice, and the Saint Mark's Basilica. I better start checking for Venice hotels also to see if there are a lot of good hotels there within our budget.

Our last destination in Italy is Milan. Milan hotels is never a problem, so we won’t have a hard time looking for a place to stay so we can enjoy the many attractions in Milan like the Cathedral of Milan, Leonardo da Vinci Museum, the Duomo (Cathedral) and the Theatre Museum at La Scala (Museo Teatrale alla Scala).

Oh, I’m getting excited already. Hope we’ll be able to save so we can all travel together and have our grand vacation in Italy.

Searching for Love?

Posted by abie on 11:48 PM in
I was helping my colleague prepare for a presentation about application for sponsorship of Immigrants. And I just found out that majority of the sponsorship applicants they are processing met their wives from Dating Websites. It made me curious so I tried checking one site where they can help you find Russian Brides.

From this site, you can check profiles and pictures of your prospective Russian Brides. You can browse the Women’s catalogue by age, height, weight, or children. You have to be a member to retrieve addresses of the Russian ladies. For first time users, you can try the Trial Membership where you can browse the album and send unlimited introduction letters. And if you’re really serious in pursuing a relationship, then you can decide to upgrade your membership. They offer a lot of services to members like they can help you arrange for a conference phone call, you can use their email forwarding service, or avail of their flowers and gift delivery service. They can even help you plan a meeting with your prospective Russian Brides.

The site also helps its members avoid online dating scams. All you need to do is just type in the name of your prospective Russian bride and it will tell you if she has been mentioned as a dating scammer.

You can even search the site for dating industry news. You can search the archive or read current dating stories and news.

UK Payday Loan

Posted by abie on 11:02 PM in
I was just talking to my friend in UK yesterday and she told me that his cousin’s PC crashed yesterday. His cousin is a video editor and he is editing a documentary for a group of college students. His problem now is that the deadline is already next week so he needs to start working on the documentary to meet the deadline.

He needs to purchase a PC, as soon as possible so he can start doing his video editing job. But his problem is that his payday is not up until next week. So I suggested that he avail of this Payday Loans from Roberts Bridge Financial. Roberts Bridge Financial is a financial matching service where they match borrowers to lenders.

It’s so easy to apply to avail of this Cash Advance. He just needs to submit his application online. He just needs to fill up a form giving details about the amount of Salary Advance he wants to avail, his personal information, employment information and his banking information. Then leave it all up to Robert Bridge Financial to find the lender for you. Once his loan gets approved, he can get his money in as fast as 24 hours. The cash will be deposited electronically to his bank account. It’s that easy.

Payday loans can really be the answer to solve his problem.

A car for my brother

Posted by abie on 4:05 PM in
My brother needs to buy a car. He is the one who is managing our cell phone store in Greenhills and so he needs a service going to our shop everyday. He used to use our family van but my father needs it also for his business, so my brother has no choice but to buy another car for him.

He’s planning to get from Honda so he’s searching the net for some Honda Cars. He needs to get Honda Car Prices from different dealers so he can compare and get the best deal. So I referred him to CarsBlvd.com. It is a car comparison site that lets customers compare prices of vehicles. From this site he can get up to two Honda Car Quotes for free. All he needs to do is enter the year, the make, the model and the trim and he’ll get instant car quotes for free.

Hope he can buy his new car soon for I know he’s having a difficult time already commuting everyday going to our store.

Next Generation Online Shopping Boutique

Posted by abie on 1:32 PM in
I love to shop. When I was still single I love to shop till I drop. But things change since I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, Ysabela. Now I don’t have the time and the luxury to shop like I used to. Every time we’re at a shopping mall, we’re always in a rush since it’s difficult and tiring to shop around with a toddler.

Thank goodness to this online shopping boutique that I discovered – Tobi. So I can shop at the comfort of my own home. You can browse the site by Brand like Seven for All Mankind, 1921, Juice Beauty, Acne Jeans, and much more. Or you can choose to browse the site by Category like Denim, Dresses, Handbags and the like.

While I was browsing the site, I found these nudie jeans that is so in today that I like to buy for my brother as our Christmas present for him. When I clicked on the picture of this nudie jeans, the site gave me different views of the jeans (back view, side view, front view) so it was like I was shopping from a real boutique.

Another thing I like about Tobi is that they have an online stylist that you can speak to get fashion tips on what’s best for you.

Now I’m a total Tobi fan. I just have to make my selections, order them and voila, it will be delivered right at my doorstep. Shopping has never been this so much fun and easy.

Two days to go and it’s party time

Posted by abie on 4:28 PM in , , , ,
Last Monday we we’re able to drop by at Jollibee Mendiola to book their party package for Bela’s celebration with the kids at Hospicio de San Jose. Good thing we decided to go there last Monday since there would be an additional fee na daw if we book 3 days before the party na lang. I just need to collect the donations from my officemates and everything’s set for Friday na.

Yesterday, we drop by at Philippine Columbian to pay the 50% downpayment and to finalize our menu na din. I also gave final instructions for the stage setup, table setup, etc. Good thing there’s no booking in the morning for the function room that we reserved so suppliers can start the set up as early as 10 AM.

Then we fetched Bela and my mom to get Bela’s birthday attire from Farley. I just so love Bela’s luau gown. Even Bela loves it too. Right after seeing it, she immediately asks my mom to put it on her and she was swirling, modeling and posing with the gown. Too bad we didn’t bring our camera so Howell was not able to take a picture of Bela posing. And she didn’t want to remove the gown. She was so happy and comfortable wearing it that she went home wearing the gown. Kailangan pa naming syang utuin pag uwi namin para hubarin nya yung gown at baka madumihan na.

Howell was also able to finish Bela’s stage backdrop so we can send it to the printing shop this afternoon. Below is Howell’s lay out. It’s a collage of all the pictures that we used for the invitation.

I’m still thinking if it is still worth it to drop by at Quiapo to buy the leis. Parang tinatamad na ako eh….hehehe…

So all we need to do is pack the stuffs that we need for Saturday and we’re all set. I’m so excited already.

Treasuring the Friendships made online

Posted by abie on 12:26 PM in ,
I received this message from Nice.

Thanks Nice. I’m really touched for considering me as one of your friend.

I’ve known Nice during our w@w days when we are still preparing for our wedding. We lost touch for a while after our weddings. But then I became an active blogger again, and we discovered each other’s blog. From then on we visited each other’s blogs to keep us both updated and to keep us in touch with each other.

Gaining a lot of friends has been the greatest reward that I got from blogging. I never enjoyed blogging as much as I did now. And so I’m passing this award to:

Peachy. I first had a conversation with Peachy when I answered her query about Eton International school. Then we chatted in YM and discovered that we just live near each other. Then her son and Bela became classmates for one quarter at LG. Since then we became text mates, chat mates, email buddies, blogging buddies and true friends.

Emillie. She is my former officemate. We’re both w@wies and n@wies and so we share stories about w@w, wedding preparations, married life, on being a mom, or just about anything under the sun. They just recently move to the US, but I hope we will continue to be in touch. I miss you girl.

Jane. I first talked to Jane when I was preparing for my daughter’s first birthday. Since then, I always visit her blog because I love reading their family adventures, Sophia’s antics, or just any of her blog stories. And then I met her last Sunday and she’s so down to earth and so friendly.

Kitts. Kitts was my batch mate in w@w. I met her twice pa lang ata. But even though we don’t see each other that often, we see to it that we are constantly in touch by visiting each other’s blogs, communicating through text or email. We shared tips on cooking, breastfeeding, and even party preparations.

Pheng. She’s my former classmate but we lost touch after graduating from college. Our paths cross again when we discovered that we are both w@wies. Since then, we visit each other’s blog and we even constantly chat at YM.

Bela's Tarpaulin

Posted by abie on 4:33 PM in , ,
Howell is finished with Bela’s 2x6 Tarpaulin. He is still doing the 6x4 layout for the stage backdrop. Looks like we’re really cramming already. October and November has been our busiest months that’s why we we’re not able to do the stuffs for Bela’s birthday in advance. But that’s ok. I know Howell can finish it on time.

Here is Bela’s 2x6 Tarpaulin. (Lay out c/o dad)

We’ll be going to Philippine Columbian later to pay the 50% down payment and give final instructions for Saturday. Then we will go to Farley to get Bela’s birthday attire. Oh, I’m excited.

So bye for now. I’ll post more party updates later.

Mommy Bloggers Christmas Party – 11.11.2007

Posted by abie on 12:10 PM in , ,
Hi mga blogging mommies. Howell, Bela & I had fun at our party last night. Finally, na meet ko na din kayo in person. Sayang lang di ako gaano nakapag table hop at medyo may toyo si Bela (may sipon at ubo kse eh).

Thanks again to Apols for organizing the party for us. Thanks sis, we owe you big time. Sa uulitin ha….hehehe…

Thank you din kay Apple for the gift and the keychain. Super love it. And kay Sam (Jacqui) for your gift to Bela. Suot na ni Bela kanina yung bigay mo noong nagpunta sila sa SM.

Thanks also to those who donated and pledged stuffs for the kids of Hospicio de San Jose – Apols, Jacqui, Jody, Joy, Mich, and Peachy.

We’ll upload pictures soon. Busy pa si husband sa paggawa ng tarpaulin ni Bela at nasira pa yung laptop namin yesterday kaya di pa ako nakakapag upload.

It was fun meeting all of you guys! So kelan na ang next? Sa susunod coffee na nga lang para naman super chikahan na talaga….hehehe

Good News…Bad News

Posted by abie on 12:41 AM in , ,
Good News

We already have our tickets for the Barney Just Imagine Show. We will be watching the show on December 23 at 7 PM. Sobrang excited ko so kahit na 8 PM na ako natapos sa salon, pinilit ko pa rin si Howell na dumaan kami sa SM San Lazaro to purchase the tickets that I reserved that afternoon.

I was really happy because I got center aisle seats at Row B.

Bad News

I was blog hopping last night and read Peachy’s post regarding the Barney show. I remember, she mentioned to me that they got center aisle seats. I read from her post that they got ticket PT 103, Row E, Seat 19-21. So I checked my tickets and we got PT 103, Row B, Seat 1-3. So I realized one of us was issued the wrong center aisle seats. It was already 11 Pm and Ticketnet is already close so I have to wait the next day to verify our tickets.

I called Ticketnet as early as 9 AM the next day and it was then that I found out that the ticket issued to us was not center aisle, but side aisle. Super bad trip na ako, since I specifically requested for center aisle seats. So takbo kami agad ni hubby sa SM San Lazaro where we purchased the tickets.

I raised my concern to the person in charge sa customer service. And sabi nya, center aisle seats daw yung ticket namin. I asked her to call Ticketnet to verify. After making the phone call, here is what the girl said:

Customer Service Asst: Ma’am side aisle nga po yung ticket na nabigay sa inyo. Pero wala na din po kami magagawa dyan.

Nairita talaga ako sa sagot nya. I promised hubby that I will be calm pero nakakairita talaga yung sagot ng girl at mataray pa tono nya. So I told her, it is their fault since I reminded them several times before they issued me the tickets that they have to make sure that it is center aisle.

She asked me to come back at 1 PM since the manager will arrived at that time. And it’s only 10 AM. So sabi ko, hindi ako makakapag hintay ng 1 PM, I need to talk to the one in charge right now.

So di talaga ako umalis ng Customer Service…hehehe. Natakot ata sa akin, kaya tinawagan nya yung supervisor nya. Mabait naman yung supervisor. Napansin siguro na irate na ako…hehehe. So inasikaso na niya agad yung concern ko and tumawag na sya agad sa Ticketnet.

Good News

Ticketnet agreed to change our tickets to center aisle seats. But since the Accounting office is close on a Sunday, we have to go back tomorrow to get our new tickets. They have to refund our first payment daw kse from Accounting before they can issue us the new ticket.

So sa mga mommies na mag pu-purchase ng tickets for the Barney show: For VIP Center Section 103, center aisle is seat 21. For Section 101, center aisle is Seat 1.

Christmas shopping

Posted by abie on 11:39 PM in
It’s only 43 days to go and I’m still not finished with my Christmas shopping list. Good thing my daughter is now sleeping so I can do my online shopping.

While I was browsing the net I found this new line of eco-candles. This would be a perfect gift for all my girl friends and my sister in law. My favorite is the Roly Poly Soy Candles which comes in two sizes. The Flirtatious curves which would be a very elegant house decor and the 4 oz candles which are great for small spaces. These soy candles feature top-shelf fragrances based in all natural vegetable oil, so it would be really soothing and relaxing. These candles also last three times longer than the petroleum based candles.

I have to count how many candles I have to purchase as I might meet the minimum purchase requirements so I can buy wholesale soy candles. This can help me save some extra bucks.

Another Wedding

Posted by abie on 7:33 AM in
My friend from Los Angeles will be getting married soon here in the Philippines. They have been married civilly in LA but would still want to have a church wedding here in the Philippines. Majority of their friends are here so they would want all their friends to be a part of their church wedding.

Since she’s an overseas bride, it would really be a challenge for her to prepare for her wedding. So I offered to help her with the wedding preparations. I love wedding preparations. In fact, when I got married, I was a hands-on bride. I planned and prepared for every details of my wedding with the help of my then fiancée. When my best friend got married last August, I also help her with the entire wedding preparations – from booking the reception venue, to finding the couturier for her gown, to finding the best wedding favors.

Since they already booked the church and the reception venue, the next thing she’s asking me to do is look for a wedding favor. I tried going around the malls for the best wedding favor that I could find. But it’s difficult to make a decision as I want my friend to see it first before buying it.

Good thing, I found this site – Truly Wedding Favors. They offer high quality, beautiful and unique wedding favors. The wedding favors are categorized either by Theme, by Price, by Type, or by Season so it is really easy to navigate the site to look for the best wedding favors that you want. They also have pictures of each wedding favor so it’s really easy to shop and select the favor that you want. They even have an online community where my friend can get tips & advice from other brides.

I just forwarded the site of Truly Wedding Favors to my friend so she can start browsing and shopping for her wedding favors.

All About my Pregnancy

Posted by abie on 11:08 PM in
I was tagged by Mich ;)
1. What food did you crave when you were pregnant?
Cadbury chocolate.

2. Did you gain a lot of weight when you were pregnant?
Yes. If I remember it correctly, I gaines about 30 lbs.

3. Did you drink milk when you were pregnant?
Yes, Anmum.

4. How long did you stay in the labor room before your delivery?
I did not go into labor. A week before my due date, I had another ultra sound and my OB found out that my amniotic fluid is already very low. So I had a scheduled CS delivery.

5. Did you have epidural during labor?
No.

6. How did you give birth?
CS

7. What was your first reaction when you heard your baby’s cry and saw him/her for the first time?
I was so happy when I heard her cry and saw her for the first. But just like Mich & Joy, I did not cry also as what I expected. I was all smiles when they asked me to kiss her and took our first picture.

8. Prior to that moment when you first held your baby, did you know how to carry a newborn? No.

9. Did you take a bath after your delivery?
No. I hate hospital restrooms. So I took a bath the when we’re already home (I think it was my 4th day already)

10. How was your first night with your baby like?
Since I gave birth via CS delivery, I can’t take care of her when she was roomed in with us. It’s easy since I don’t have to take care of her but it’s also difficult because I’m already longing to hold her and take care of her.

11. Did you breastfeed your baby?
Yes, for 2 months.

12. If you were to pick just one moment from the time you gave birth until the moment you were discharged from the hospital, which do you think is the most special moment for you?
I think, the first time I saw her. When my OB showed her to me after I gave birth to her and they asked me to kiss her. That was very memorable and special.

I'm tagging Mec, Vina and Yvetchie

THE RULES - List of 8
* write 8 facts about yourself.
* in the 8 facts, you share 8 things that your readers don’t know about you. at the end, you tag as much other bloggers to keep the fun going. each blogger must post these rules first.
* each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.* at the end of the post, a blogger needs to choose as much people to get tagged and list their names.
* don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
  1. I have a bad sense of direction. I easily get lost. Kahit sa mga malls lang, di ko matandaan lagi yung mga shop kahit ilang beses ko na sya napuntahan
  2. I can be your best friend or your worse enemy (LOL)
  3. I’m a consistent honor student when I ws in High School and I belong to the Top 20 of the graduating class in College.

  5. I’m not good with any sports.
  6. I always join the Santacruzan in our Barangay (I think, until I was at 6th Grade) and my ultimate dream that time was to be the Reyna Elena…hehehe

Party Updates

Posted by abie on 11:58 AM in , , ,
We’re done with the souvenirs. Howell finished printing & cutting the inserts yesterday. And Yaya Cris finished inserting all of them to the tumblers. They are now all sorted and properly labeled – all ready na for Saturday.

Howell is now making the tarpaulin. Hope he can finish it this weekend para less thing to think about na next week.

We’re also almost done na distributing the invites. We jus have a few left and we can finish distributing it this weekend.

Thanks also to Tita Techie for buying the stuffs that I need for Bela’s Nail Salon. This saves me a trip to Divi. So at least I have time this afternoon to go to the salon and have my much-needed haircut. I’m thinking of cutting it short (like Gretchen’s haircut. LOL) But I’m having second thoughts as I have been wearing this long hair for as long as I can remember. What do you guys think?

So I called Ticketnet and reserved 8 seats (just in case my cousins would want to go with us). OA ba? We got the VIP Center - Center Aisle seats. I’ll pick up the tickets either later or tomorrow.

Yey. I’m so happy. I’m super excited na like Peachy. For sure ma star strucked na naman si Bela nito. And like what I said to Peachy, kailangan todo get up para certified Barney fan talaga ang arrive namin…hehehe

Let me know din if anyone of you would be watching the Barney show on the 23rd so we can meet up also.

Insurance = Financial Security

Posted by abie on 11:03 AM in
When Bela came to our life, she has always been our source of joy. She never fails to fill our life with happiness. She is our most precious princess and so we want to give her the best of everything.

It’s good that both Howell and I are still here to take care of her. I don’t want to think about death, as it is really a sad thought. But the reality is, we will all go through death. And so, I was thinking, would there be someone who will take care of our daughter when we’re gone?

This thought made me realize that I need to get an insurance. This will give me the assurance that somebody will still take care of my family if I’m gone already. Thanks to this website that I found – Advantage Term Life. They offer insurance quoting services and sells all types of life insurance. They have a wide list of contacts from reputable insurance companies, so with just one click of a button, you can get Insurance Quotes from different insurance companies.

They offer different insurance policies like Term Life, Family Insurance, Key man Coverage to name just a few. Their site contains information about these different insurance policies, which can help me decide which insurance policy will work best for me.

All I have to do now is decide which policy I need, then I just need to fill in the online address form so they can send me the application forms.

Hospicio de San Jose

A month before Bela turned 1, we received a great news from Bela’s Cardiologist - the hole in heart is already close. And so as our Thanksgiving to God for taking care of Bela and for all the blessings that He continually showered upon us, we decided to celebrate Bela’s 1st birthday with the orphans at Missionaries of Charity in Tayuman.

Howell and I promised that we would try to do this every year as a way of passing forward and sharing to others the blessings that we have been receiving. And so for Bela’s second birthday, we decided to celebrate it this time with the orphans at Hospicio de San Jose. It’s the orphanage at the Ayala Bridge, near SM Manila.

We will celebrate Bela’s birthday there on November 16 (this is Bela’s exact birth date) at 3-5 PM. Food and games will be provided by Jollibee (which reminds me I have to book a party package with them). Of course, Jollibee will be there to celebrate with the kids.

For all my blogging friends, you are welcome to join us for Bela’s special day with the kids. And I’m also shamelessly asking for any donations that you can give to the kids, sort of your advance Christmas gift for them. :-)

Below is the list of things that you can donate:
  • Milk & Milo
  • Biscuits & Cookies
  • Cereals and Oatmeals
  • Diaper
  • Old & new clothes
  • Toiletries (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, face towel, etc)

They don’t prefer toys as they already have a lot of toy donations. I can get your donations when we meet up on November 11 for our christmas party.

Thanks in advance mga sisters.
