HK Day 1 – Nov 20, 2008
We took the 5:40 AM flight via Cebu Pacific to Hong Kong. We left the house around 3:30 AM so we just pick up Bela from bed and just dressed her up while we are in the car.
Terminal 3 is so much better than the old terminal that Cebu Pacific is using. And it is still clean, thank God. LOL. The flight was on time. Actually we are the last one to board since we are pasaway and we still bought our breakfast even though the FA are telling us that we are boarding in 10 minutes.
When we arrived at the HK airport, we immediately looked for Forex to get HK dollars to buy our MTR card. We bought the Airport Express which comes with 2 airport transfers and unlimited MTR ride for three days.
From the airport, we went straight to Disney’s Hollywood hotel to check in. We arrived there around 10 AM and since all their rooms are booked, we can’t check in early and we just left our luggage at the concierge. Then we went to Tung Chung station (which is just one station away from Sunny Bay – where you can ride the Disney MTR going to Disneyland) where we ride the cable car going to Lantau Island.
It is my third time in HK but it is my first time to go to Lantau Island. The cable car ride was so scary for me but Bela was really enjoying it. It was a long ride (30 – 45 minutes I think) and we are so high that most of the time I was just sitting still and not even breathing. LOL. We just checked out the Village and had some picture taking then we took the cable car again going to Tung Chung station. We had lunch there and we decided to go to Ocean Park first as it closes at 6 PM.
We are at Ocean Park around 3:30 PM. My cousin tried the scary Mine Train roller coaster then we went to Atoll Reef and the Amazing Jellyfish which is really the purpose on why we went to Ocean Park. We took the cable car ride again going to the Lowlands. There was a long queue for the cable car ride but we figured it is our fastest way going to the Habitat of the Panda.
We reached the Lowlands around 5:50 PM and we ran to make it on time to the Habitat of the Panda. We were able to make it before they close so we were able to see the amazing panda bear which Bela again really enjoyed.
We did some souvenir shopping before we left Ocean Park. Then we took the MTR to go to the Outlet store at City Gate. Bela was already sleeping so I was not able to go around all the stores and do some shopping. I was only able to buy a jacket from Roxy and Howell bought shirt and cap from Adidas. Then we went back to the hotel as we already had a long day.
